Most interesting and notable about this place to me is their wide array of bags, packs and kits all made in house. I am on a quest to buy as local and domestic as possible. They have a sewing room right upstairs in the loft that you can see from the first floor. No sweat shops, no questionable labor ethics. In addition to camping gear, they also carry Dovetail WorkWear for Women, a selection of dog toys, human toys and other gift items. Good local shop!

Unfortunately we didn't have the necessary means to transport a standard kayak with our vehicle, beyond that most places were asking for a per hour fee, which is hard to plan with when you don't know how long you will be out. Some flexibility is nice! Not only does basecamp carry inflatable kayaks (they worked well! And easy to transport in a bag) they charge per 24 hours at a very reasonable rate. Best we found in our research. The owner was very charming and guided us to a more off path lake to explore. It was beautiful!! Upon return, they treated us with a freeze pop and small (so cute) Nalgene water bottle. Next time we go out we will definitely be visiting basecamp for our adventuring!

I loved that I could go up and down the aisles and pick out what I wanted myself. I was hoping to find some CCI for my picky Walther, but came up short. No worries as I have another week and a half to collect ammo. The clerk helping me was super friendly! I am not sure I am ever coming back as I am currently on the cross-country trip of my lifetime, but I will definitely look for the chain along my route. When I found out they were not skate skis and contacted the owner, Rob, about returning them, he explained that their no return/exchange policy did not require them to purchase them back from me.
