However, the owner is a completely different story. He portrayed himself as a trainer, but he's nothing but a business owner if even that! He has no background in any kind of kickboxing or combat training. My wife and I canceled our memberships in August 2025. We received both email confirmations and a personal message saying the cancellations were processed. Two months later, I get hit with a debt collection notice, claiming I still owe money. After doing some digging, I found out we're not the only ones -- this has allegedly happened to 15-20+ other people. This place might help you lose weight, but it could also cost you a lot more than you signed up for. Stay away!

I'm an ex-soccer player and relatively fit when I showed up. My training regimen and meal plan has been tailored to my short and long term objectives. At times I've wanted to add muscle and at other times I've wanted to lean out. In all cases I've received purposeful and highly technical, form-focused instruction that have produced the exact results I've been seeking. My overall energy level, health and strength have all improved, as well as my sleep. Working out with Joe, I've done full-body HIIT training, focused-area (shoulders, arms, chest, abs) training and some moderate cardio (during lean out periods). Joe understands both the chemistry of nutrition and the physiology around body movement and muscle isolation - all to drive the right outcomes. His training sessions are a great value; as most know, it is hard to find his level of commitment and consistency in the ego-ridden personal trainer industry. You won't find that with any of the trainers at V12 - it's a positive, client-focused culture. I…read moredid have reallllly epic pictures and reviews before but Yelp had deleted the previous page (the business owner consolidated the pages for all Elite branches and deactivated them so the owner can manage them 'officially'), and I have to start from scratch. Let me just say this is my background: -- I learned Muay Thai when I was in middle school but it only lasted 3 months since it was only a summer thing my parents wanted my siblings and I to do. -- In college, I took a cardio kickboxing class for 1 semester and I thought it was pretty nice but not a lot of self-defence (none at all actually!). It was taught by a really exuberant and energetic trainer and she (I believe to this day) still teaches cheerleading. Yes. My fitness instructor in college was a cheerleader coach as well!!! -- Lastly, I played college sports, so I had my coach along with my fitness trainer. They taught us how to train well and eat well. However, no self-defense discipline. Now, to the review: I ran across Elite MMA by accident since I was interested in doing martial arts again but I really needed the motivation to go to the mats. My type of work does not allow a lot of flexibility and it involves working at night, therefore, I'm usually tired by the time I get on, or lacked a lot of sleep, or I'm pretty much starving since my sleep/meal schedule is always changing. I am very good at reading people well (it's part of my occupation) and I must say I have never met such a personable Coaches like Robert and Julian. 1) They are very passionate about their students and their wellbeing --- if I ever had kids of my own in the future, I would feel comfortable having these guys train them on how to roll. I also watch Robert with his own kid, and I must say he loves him to death --- note to parents: if a man cannot manage his household in a loving way, how can you expect him to care for yours? 2) They are very active in BJJ and encourages ALL of us to continue training all year long. Robert and Julian also compete so they continuously learn new things and teach us new moves. This leads to the next topic: 3) The Coaches train us to roll SAFELY! This is very important to me since I am familiar of other gyms/fitness centres that do not care about your personal well-being, (and dare I say it!?), just want your money! If I can tell that they're pressuring me to join them, I'll just refuse their offer since my health is more important than being out of the job. 4) Accountability. When you're missing for more than 1 week, they send you an email to see how you're doing. If Robert has your mobile number, he'll make sure to check that you're ok. If I'm having difficulty going to class because of work or I'm ill, all I need to do is let them know and it will put Robert and Julian at ease :-D 5) They have monthly events going on all the time. There are competitions and belt promotions going on. Families enjoy it and are having a blast. You should check out their "Lock-ins!" There are pizza, movies, and fun games for the kids! 6) Lastly, I can't thank Robert and Julian and the rest of the guys and gals for their friendships. They promote healthy relationships in this branch of Elite (I am not sure how the other branches are like). Going to a BJJ gym like Elite is worth it if you can always look forward to meeting your classmates there. Bonus: They also have cardio kick boxing! I have not done that myself (I would but it's just overkill for me on top of what I have on my plate!) Overall, check them out and have fun! Coach Robert and Julian, (and pretty much all the guys/gals/teens) will make you feel at home. I have never regretted ever joining them and I will sorely miss them. I learned to be disciplined and to be able to take care of myself in all situations :-D

I had gotten bored of the gym routine--strength training workouts, interspersed with scoffing at the youngsters who seem to do more talking to each other than lifting, and snickering at the swole bros checking themselves out in the mirror and doing crazy photo op pull-ups. 9Round doesn't allow the time or space for any of this foolishness. I once had a partner criticize me, I had one that really should've put on deodorant prior to class and a guy that must've believed I'd done something wrong to him with the way he was punching! (Eye roll) It's also pretty expensive!! Plan on spending about $120-$150 per month depending on which package you choose. In an effort to combat my distain for the partner drills, I attempted to bring my 13 year old to class thinking she'd be allowed 3 free classes. Not the case! I was told after she'd attended one class that I would need to purchase a full price membership for her as well. That seemed absolutely ridiculous to me that no discount whatsoever was offered! Overall, if you are looking to commit to losing weight and getting in fit then ILKB is a great way to start. It does work!! My advice - take the 3 classes for $19.99, learn the moves and buy a bag for home and save the money! I did that exact thing and love my continuing results! This place is awesome!! The instructors are knowledgeable and committed to giving you the workout of your life! They are eager to assist you with form in order to get the most out of each round. From warm up to boxing rounds to partner work and cool down stretching it is a total body, intensive workout. I'd definitely suggest arriving about 10 minutes prior to class beginning to give yourself time to wrap your hands. Anthony corrected my form and punches multiple times which was very needed as I got lost and didn't really understand how to do the 6 punches properly They have Lockers you can use. And also water fountains. You can rent both the gloves and wraps for $12 each. You get to keep the wraps and they are reusable and washable. They have some cardio and weightlifting equipment.
