Kitty puddle!
Jonathan B.

I absolutely love what they're doing here! Giving people a slice of peace in their lives when needed, giving cats interaction time, and getting them adopted. While the prices are a bit steep, and the food and drink quality itself on the cafe side is nothing special, the cause is a good one and won't leave you feeling regretful about your time and money spent here. I have the incredible luck in life of being both "a cat person" and "an allergic to cats person". A cat cafe gives me the out when I'm not visiting friends or family who have cats that I can interact with. And there was even an employee at this cafe who set me up with a Zyrtec out of pure kindness and no obligation at all when I showed up unprepared on a whim. Absolutely worth your time to come by and restore a little simple joy into your life.

Crooked Cat Cafe is a great concept, and the cats are absolutely adorable. The space is clearly designed with the cats in mind, and they were friendly overall. Most of the cats are kittens and seem a bit under-socialized, which is worth keeping in mind. The menu could use a little more cow bell. Most of the drinks are very sugary, and the boba isn't real tapioca. There's room for improvement both in variety and quality. The staff experience was hit or miss and came across as somewhat rude. I strongly recommend scheduling an appointment or making a reservation. Despite what's advertised, walk-ins are not allowed. Since it's a non-profit, some of the business practices could also use a little more cow bell and clarity. Overall, cute cats and a solid idea. Some improvements in service, menu offerings, and communication would really elevate the experience. You're paying for the experience.

The cats were so sweet and cute. I loved getting to play and cuddle with them. The service was very nice and helpful!

We all miss the Winston location, but we were happy to visit in GSO to see and pet the cats and kittens they have lounging around and awaiting adoption! The catpuccino was pricey but also good. Staff was friendly, and the venue was clean and aesthetically pleasing with all the cat decor! And of course, the cats were a large army, forcing us into surrender to pet and scratch them in only the correct places, as referenced on the chart!

The website is very clear in their expectations, prices, times and policies. Please read before you book. They have a waiver you complete (not tedious at all). If you have on socks, you can wear your socks. If you have on shoes, they have shoe covers. Be mindful to not let the cats escape. This is the cutest concept. Their cafe is located in the back and separate from the cats. You can tell the cats are well cared for and have a loving environment. I enjoyed my Americano coffee while the kitties frolicked about. The policies in place are to keep you and the cats safe. I really loved the decor and the cats are so well behaved. I will definitely consider adopting from them. The coffee barista was so friendly. You could tell the other ladies were very knowledgeable. We will definitely return.

The café drinks are all very good, the ambiance and atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing, and the cats are all around a joy. The staff are very inviting and friendly, and happy to assist! Very good spot to visit and work, even just sitting in the café.

Great place to be, enjoy quality time with some very friendly cats. I would definitely come back, they are alot of fun.

A cat's purse one of my favorite sounds in the entire world it immediately lowers my blood pressure makes me feel content inside. My little guy wanted to visit all the cats at the café so for a small fee you can purchase some time and go in and play with all the cats. This is a nonprofit organization and it helps to find homes for cats that would otherwise be neglected and left to die on the street or euthanized. The cats were all clean, which is nice, and there are a lot of fun spaces to chill and just watch them in their own environment. There is a café in the back where you can snag a coffee or something

We had a great time at Crooked Tail Cat Cafe. It was a random stop on our drive but a pleasant one. We spent $7 per person for half an hour with the cats. We met sweet adoptable cats and the space was clean and smelled amazing. We ordered coffee from their vegan menu and spent some quality time with the cats. They give you a rundown on the house rules and have you sign a waiver before you enter. The staff was kind an knowledgeable about the cats and the coffee was great too. We would certainly recommend stopping by if you are in town.

I always love visiting cat cafes in new cities or towns that I visit. This one was very nice and clean inside, the employees/company really take good care of their cats. They have a cafe attached in the back, which is where you go to wait before your designated time slot is ready. I got a crème brûlée latte and it was good! Their cafe also has a mini shop of goodies you can buy like socks or shirts or trinkets. I would recommend this place. It was probably around $11 per adult I believe? Fairly priced!

This place is always a pleasure to walk by and even better to pay the small fee to enter for 30 minutes to and hour time spans or more. The fee is to help foster the cats that are there up for adoption. And there is a cafe in the back to purchase drinks and maybe snacks to bring to the front while you can enjoy the cats. There were quite a lot of cats and some kittens there that seems mostly at peace, friendly and playful with people entering the cafe. I've heard some people complain about the place not smelling well but I can tell you that they place smelled very clean and not like a liter box or a bunch of cats. Pre COVID times they would have events to do yoga or other activities with the cats, but has been put on pause for the time being. I am very tempted to add to my family of a cat and two little dogs when I visit here for the cats up for adoption. You can play with them in the mean time and help them with the costs of sheltering them there. It was very worth the small fee.

Let me preface by saying I am not a cat person but I do love the concept... a little jealous they don't have one for dogs bc I would be there everyday. We went in for coffee only on our work break. We walked in and a worker escorted us back to the coffee lounge and told us we could look with our eyes not touch the cats.... you have to pay an additional fee if you want to hang out and play with the cats. I do like that they have a separate place to drink your coffee I got the Calico specialty coffee which was very good!

Speaking of Charna alone at this point, she was always there for me. I was able to reach her at any time via text to ask questions. She listened to my request and did her very best to let me know when any pup came in that might be a fit. From what I have seen all of the fosters in this group try very hard to work with the dogs long enough to provide you with good information on their pups and then they try very hard to match you with a pup that best meets your needs. They want to make certain that when a doggy goes out with you it is a good match but if some unknown reason presents itself they are careful to have you sign paperwork that states that this pup wii return to them. That way pups do not migrate to people who have not been properly vetted. Speaking of the money that is charged for their pups, they are merely trying to recover cost for the pups who come in with many health issues. They provide immediate medical help, including surgeries etc to make sure that these pups are given the very best chance at living well. Their fosters provide detailed info about the habits (both positive and negative) of their foster pups. Again, this is part of the effort to make the very best fit for you and you new pet. You only need to look on their Facebook page to see the happy faces of the families who have gotten their new baby from NC Yorkie. You need only look at the faces of the happy new adopted pups to see that their lives have just changed forever. I know these people work tirelessly in an effort to save pups and rescue them from bad situation and give them their very best happily ever after.

Once we had filled out the forms and sent the required pictures of you home, we met our dog and fell in love with him. Since that time we have received several calls from NC Yorkie Rescue. Each pleasant call was a check to be sure everything was doing OK. The callers wanted to be sure he fit into our family as well as to find out if we were fitting into his life. The fact that our dog is only part Yorkie never enters the equation, he is just perfect for us. We couldn't be more pleased with the services we received from the caring people at NC Yorkie Rescue or the pleasure we enjoy from our new pet.

We happen to be in Greensboro and we visited this shelter to see what kind of information they could provide about our dog's history. Our expectations were low about the information with which we would be provided - after all, this intake was two years ago. Although we didn't see much past the main desk, we were impressed with the cleanliness. We were very touched that they gave us some of their time to find out the history of our dog. We were very moved by the pictures they provided. They also deciphered the intake notes on his temperament helping us better appreciate his behavior today. The bottom line is that they were certainly not obligated to provide us with any information whatsoever, and yet, they did so with such empathy and respect. We were very grateful.

We meet beautiful, sweet, precious Buck. Buck was very shy at first. Towards the end of our visit we noticed he was limping. We told the staff about it but she just said, I didn't know he was limping ( and she did nothing). We went on and signed the papers to adopt/foster ( we were not able to adopt him yet because buck was not neutered). We took him shopping, we got him home and loved on it him. We took him on a short walk the next day and noticed him limping again and sometime not putting his paw on the ground. We went back to the shelter on Monday to get his leg checked out. They did X-Rays but didn't have a veterinarian there to examine it. So we ended up taking him home on Monday after the X-Rays. On Tuesday ( the next day) the shelter called us to bring him back up there so doctor can see him walk. So we had to drop him back off that evening. I asked if the doctor could be at the shelter the next day to speak with me but she left without speaking to me. The tech said Buck has a possible cruciate tear with muscle loss and inflammation. I went back and forth to the shelter several more times before I said,I'm done. The shelter left out the part on his first set of paper work, where they seen him limping and took X-Rays on 9/17( 2 days before I meet him). The shelter wanted me to take on a 4,000-6,000 cost to fix his leg and they were not willing to help at all. They said told me I would have to come to the shelter every week to get medication because that's how they do it. This experience was a nightmare. I wasted hundreds of dollars, gas( going back and forth to the shelter, and I had to let buck go. I told the shelter that I'm ready taking care of my sister which is total care and in a wheelchair, I can't take an injured pet. They knew that his leg was injured but did nothing about it and would not help to fix the injury.

When I called ahead of time to ask a question about to dog I was interested in, I was told to she was being adopted that day. I asked about other small dogs & was told there was another one on their site. I told her I would go ahead & keep my appointment to meet the dog. I told her I would be driving 2 hours to meet. I showed up & was less than impressed by the facility. The office was in disarray & dirty. They brought the dog out & I was in love. He was dirty & had not been neutered. When I told her that I wanted him & she said "we don't to same day adoptions". when I said I had driven 2 hours, she said I hadn't told her I would be driving 2 hours & when I said I did, he response was that she didn't remember. He could not be adopted until he was neutered & groomed, I asked if I could sign something stating I would have him neutered & her response was no, it had to be done by their vet. She also informed me that my application that I had submitted a week ago had not been processed since it was for a dog that was already adopted. I asked if I could be called when he was neutered & was again told no. This place seems very shady & doesn't seem to have to best interest of the animals as a priority. Stay away from them!

It was like pulling teeth to get info from the staff about the 7 month old kitten we wanted and eventually did adopt. 2 of the staff members were borderline rude. The cat area was not sanitary. There were litter boxes for when all of the cats are in the common area that were filled with poop and staff were sitting at there desks instead of cleaning up. The floor needed to be sanitized. I will continue my monthly donations. They will soon be moving to a new location. I consider my experience as rescuing rather than just adopting and I say this with great sadness. I encourage people to adopt from them just so the rescued animals get into good homes. They need that very much. So please adopt from them. They need an overhaul but still do great community work.
