I could not believe the low prices she charges but I think to her it's more about keeping the profession pure and all about the pets. I work with firefighters and veterinarians, knowing so many different vets from across the states I believe puts me in a unique position. I have many of my own pets as well, regardless of what I do in life, when it comes to my own pets, I blindly must put trust in my veterinarians. I also know the pure emotion and anxiety of your pet having an emergencie. All that being said I felt blessed for myself and my dog when we found Animal Care of Spearfish. It was the first time I felt I was listened to. I never felt rushed, unclear, or uncertain about any decisions being made or treatments being done. Dr. Whalen and his staff are the a specialist. He laid it out ,gave a recommendation and let me choose. I am from California and this office is in South Dakota. When you are truly comfortable that your pet is in the best hands, your confidence about your pets health is increased. I love feeling so knowledgeable about what is going on with my girl! I guess what I have to say is thank you, for listening, and for all you do. As to my review. I think I'll drive her yearly for a well check. Dr. Whalen is the best part of my pets Health Care!

My pets and I have had THREE emergent issues within the last 5 years. Each time, I have called this clinic for help, regardless of where I am living at the time. Tonight I had an issue with my cat after normal, clinic hours and she was the only one that answered my call. She gave me advice on what to do and even called me back awhile later to check up on how everything was going. It's so nice to have a calm, direct person to talk to when your world seems to be flipping upside down. I can't recommend this clinic enough. Thank you, Dr. Metzger Holcomb! My wife made the appointment so I asked her and she said she thought so. I dropped both off at 10AM. I ran out of things to waist time doing so pulled in their lot past noon even though they hadn't called. After setting in the lot a while I went in to check and was told 1st dog would be another 15 minutes. Jeanne then in a not nice tone of voice told me I could never bring the dogs again at the same time. It was her who recently told me how behaved they'd been and I should bring them in together. I reminded her I preferred bringing them a week apart and it's also easier on them to not have the dogs acting up with each other. Someone said that's no problem because they have extra help. They'd always done such a nice job but I don't appreciate being talked to that way especially when it was me who didn't want to bring them in together. We paid cash with a nice tip but I won't return.
