Attitude in the repair department We were heading back to SC after Thanksgiving. Our car started smoking so we called AAA. Knowing a tow truck was on its way I called this dealership and explained the emergency situation we were in. Was told appointments were five days out. When I begged them just to look at it and see if it was quickly fixable the service tech said "five days out". Would not give me any local places to call. Went on line and found Bellamy Chevrolet (14 miles away). They were wonderful and said they would fit us in. Minor issues that were fixable and we were back on the road in three hours. I purchased a GMC Canyon from this dealership and was so impressed, I decided to go back for service. Some of the service reviews were not great, so I was reluctant, but wanted to give them a chance. They absolutely stepped up! I never write reviews, but the experience was spectacular. I pulled up and Carol from the service department greeted me and her team was next level professional and courteous. I went up to the sales floor and Tyler (who sold me the vehicle) greeted me, remembered me from several months ago, and took time to catch up. His sales colleague, Tay, also greeted me professionally and did a low pressure, polite search for another vehicle I was interested in. My service was completed promptly, at a great price, and Carol and her team, closed me out with the same courtesy and professionalism. These are a few of my least favorite things: writing negative reviews and paying out my hard-earned dollars for horrible customer service. I made an appointment at Cronic Cars in Griffin, GA and regret the moment I drove my truck onto the lot. I made an appointment online and called them on the phone to request a low bean bulb replacement and to get a simple oil change. I should've known something was wrong when I called the service department, and the rep asked me for the same information I had already entered online. I arrived at 5pm, an hour before the service department is scheduled to close. There were less than 5 customers waiting and everyone on planet earth knows it doesn't take an hour to do a simple oil change or to replace a simple bulb. In hindsight, I should've checked the new bulb, before I drove off, but I didn't, since it was already dark when I left the service department. It wasn't until I arrived home that I got out of my truck and confirmed what I was already thinking. I immediately called the service department and because it was now after 6pm, no one answered. They didn't change the bulb, it was still the same old blown one, but what they did change was my radio station and charged me for a tire rotation that I didn't ask for. Now, I'm left wondering if they even changed the oil or just charged me for it. I called the service department on Monday to complain and asked for the service manager. I was told that he was busy, so I left my name and number and asked for a callback. Well, I'm still waiting. If you get a high on horrible customer service, I recommend this trainwreck of a service department but if you're all about getting what you pay for with a side dish of appreciation and a dash of thanks for your business - AVOID Cronic Cars in Griffin, GA and go anywhere else. They can delete my service record and take me off the mailing list, I will NEVER take my truck here again. read more

I would love to love this dealership as there is no other GMC dealer close to me. But, their service department under the leadership of Walter Lopez is a disaster in my opinion. I am in the midst of a very poor service experience with Cronic Chevrolet Buick GMC. Made a service appointment over two weeks ago for warranty work on 2024 Acadia, less than 3000 miles. Delivered the vehicle to dealership two days ago as instructed. Silence all day yesterday from the dealership, so we called late afternoon to see if we were clear to pick the car up this evening. We were not, as the car was still outside, "in line," waiting for its turn to enter the service garage. No service today obviously, and we were told it would be several days before the dealership could get to it. Again, we made this appointment over two weeks ago. Service department staff stated Cronic never provides loaner or courtesy vehicles, and also that GMC would refuse to cover a rental for us because the needed work was not for a "safety concern." I asked if we could drive the car until such time as Cronic was ready to actually work on it or at least diagnose it. We could use it until such time as the work was ready to be done, then drop it off the evening before. All they had to do was let us know. Service manager Walter told me this would not be possible--that if we took the car home to use it, we would lose our place in line and have to start the wait all over again. Service manager Walter was adamant that the service appointment we made was only the date upon which our vehicle could "get in line" and be brought to the dealership. That once physically on their lot and in the queue, it would still be multiple days--maybe a week--before the vehicle would actually be looked at. Walter was adamant that this is the way he runs his service department, and challenged me to find a GMC service department in Georgia that operated any differently. So we are taking Walter up on his challenge. With the assistance of GMC customer assistance staff, we have opened up a complaint and case file with the assurance that GMC will help us get these needed warranty repairs done at a dealership with a customer service focus. In my opinion, Walter is either a very poor representative of Cronic's positive customer service culture, or he is an accurate representative of a very poor Cronic customer service culture. Customer Service is very important to me and should be kept very professional and always honest. Thank you both for such great experience on yesterday. I apologize for not taking notes on the NEW Service Manager's name. Well just know you will see him if you stop by to visit. He is definitely a friendly face that you will see opening doors and calling down to the shop if you need help. I have so much respect for the new service team at Cronic. I came in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. After checking out I get into my truck to find my check engine light on. I love my truck purchased it new from this dealership, but after this weekend I will never step foot in this building again. The service tech lied to me and said my check engine light was on when I arrived, I kn for a fact that it wasn't. After going back and fourth with the service tech I eventually left very disappointed. When I arrived home I pop my hood and found a cable unplugged that connects to my engine. After years of being a dedicated customer I am done, this place is horrible please see the attached picture do not take your vehicle here seriously you will be disappointed and your vehicle will be damaged. Buyer beware!!!!! We purchased a 2021 Chevy Malibu on February 9, 2023 from Cronic Chevrolet in Griffin from salesman Gary and this has turned out to be the worst experience ever.  One week after having the car it stalled in the middle of the road when my son was driving it and he could have been killed in the vehicle. It is a major safety hazard. We thought it might be the battery and then two weeks later the check engine light comes on in the vehicle so we took it back to Cronic Chevrolet dealership for service and they told us 9 different codes came up including a bad fuel pump and that it is covered by the factory warranty but the part is on back order and they have no idea when the part will be available. We have not had the car 30 days yet and it is already deemed a safety risk to drive. The car is still at their shop. We are required to make payments on a vehicle that we can't drive and that is sitting at the dealership. I tried to get help with a loaner caring, a rental car or something until the part comes in from the salesman Gary, General manager Jon Hansen and the assistant manager George Woodall that they can't do anything to help us or provide us with any vehicle to drive until this issue is resolved. I find it very difficult to believe that none of these issues presented themselves prior to this vehicle being sold. GM only reimburses for $46/day for a rental car and no rental companies have any cars less than $69/day. It is very frustrating to buy a car and not be able to drive it and not get any help from the dealership that sold it to you.. We might as well went to a buy here pay here if we wanted to buy a lemon. It is very disheartening and disappointing what we have gone through. I would hope that Cronic would want to rectify this situation since an unsafe vehicle was sold by their dealership. read more

I visited Cronic Chevrolet Buick GMC on 12/14/2022. They had a vehicle on the lot that I was very interested in and spent approximately 3 plus hours test driving and putting a deal together on the truck. I told the sales manager I had put a deposit down at another GMC dealership he stated he had contacts at the other dealer and would assist in getting my deposit back for me if I purchased the truck from Cronic. I asked them if I could have the night to make my decision to buy the truck and told them I would be back the next morning with a decision. They gave me no indication that was a problem and again reiterated they would help me recoup my deposit from the other dealer. As I gave my word to the salesman, I returned to the dealership on 12/15/2022 to purchase the vehicle and it was sold to another individual the previous evening. Their primary response being "Sorry, another customer walked in, wanted the vehicle and would pay whatever Cronic wanted for it. So, I guess that threw me to the curve and I no longer mattered. I am extremely disappointed in the way I was treated and they have lost long term loyal customer. They should at least called me and given me the option to secure the vehicle before selling it to the next person. It's obvious; they cared only about the money and not the customer.... A dealership is only as good as their service department. The service department is represented by the customer service rep. How the customer service goes, so goes the dealership. On the way out of town for a beach trip, I discovered that the water pump was leaking. I drove into Cronic and explained my problem. The woman behind the counter asked if I had an appointment. Again, I explained that this was an unexpected repair, and would have made an appointment had I known several days in advance that the water pump would develop a leak. With a cigarette dangling out of her mouth, cigarette smoke wafting out of the office through the window porthole, she told me that I couldn't get the car repaired without an appointment. There was never a thought of checking with the mechanics, or of trying to offer any kind of help. Fortunately, an independent car repair facility was just down the road; they got right on it and I was on my way with only a one hour delay. I base my entire opinion of Cronic on this one imbecile woman attempting to be a "customer service" representative. I will not only NOT bring my vehicle here for service, I will never purchase a new or used vehicle from Cronic. Bellamy-Strickland is not far away, and provides a much better environment for the customer. I have purchased FOUR vehicles from Bellamy-Strickland over a 20 year period and recommend them for sales and service. read more

Having my car serviced at Cronic was a wonderful experience. The service department was very prompt in getting me an appointment. They were very accommodating to me as I took my car to another dealership the day before and had a terrible experience. I dropped my car off and within 45 minutes the service rep called me explaining the problem and asked me how I wanted to move forward with repairs. The communication that Cronic uses is second to none, they kept me updated regarding the status of my car every step of the way. This included when they anticipated my car to be done so that I would not have to go to pick it up during rush hour traffic. I cannot say enough good about this place. I drove an extra 20 minutes to this location because the dealership closest to me was not cutting it and I did not regret it! Thank you Cronic GMC!!! read more

I wasn't going to post my concerns, but something needs to be done about the Service department in Griffin, GA. Their customer service sucks!! Especially the guy who works there name Cameron. He has no customer service skills at all. He thinks he can talk to people any kind of way with a non chelant attitude and response. I've been a customer since 2000 and to be treated the way I have is unacceptable. It's to the point where I will ride 45 minutes to get my vehicle serviced. I have complained several times about his attitude and still nothing has changed with him. It's not what you say it's how you say it. I'm not the only one who has had issues with Cameron. I purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Malibut LT from them in 2019, they failed to inform me that the vehicle had been in a collision, straight up lied because I did ask the salesman and the person doing the financial work, I was also told at the time they did not have a carfax, which should have been my red light. The car just stopped in the middle of traffic with NO WARNING. Had it hauled to Terry Cullen Chevrolet which was closer and was told that over $3000.00 repairs were needed. "A/C compressor locked up blowing 300amp fuse, which shorted out the battery fuse block. Unknown collision mechanical damaged: Radiator brackets broken, radiator leaning and burning wire harness, inter cooler bent. Requires replacement of a/c compressor, radiator, radiator brackets, inter cooler, battery fuse block". Please do not let this happen to you it. read more

I had a FANTASTIC experience at Cronic. I bought a brand new Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The salesperson was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. He walked me through all of the options available and worked with me as I made my decision. The price they gave me for the truck was less than other dealers were quoting and the trade in value they gave me on my old truck I traded in was higher than what other dealers were offering. I have been back to the dealership twice since then and have had service that is nothing short of impeccable. DO NOT try to do business with this "dealership". My wife and I stopped in on 04/06/2019 because a truck caught our eyes. We were greeted by a salesman as we was looking at the truck(as expected). We proceed to inquire about the truck and the salesman went to get the keys so we could look inside of the truck. Upon gaining access to the truck I started the truck and to my surprise it had 2281 miles on it (A 2019 Silverado) and the salesman was trying to still keep the possible sale as a brand-new truck. As we are looking through the truck I lift up the back seat and to my surprise there is popcorn and candy all in the floor underneath the seat. So we decide to leave and the salesman wanted to show us other trucks so we decided to look at what he was wanting to show us. so as we are looking my wife is looking on the website and seen one that was "in-transit" and was priced at $29,999 so we inquired about it. The salesman went to talk to his "manager" if you want to call him that. The salesman comes back and states "My manager said that price is not correct and the actual price is $$44,900". Service is terrible! I have bought many vehicles from the sales Dept and have always been treated well. Now the service Dept is another story.I Have a fleet truck with a transmission still under warranty and the truck has sit in the parking lot for over a week. I called to see when it would be ready only to be told their lift could not pick the vehicle up. When asked if they tried it or put it on scales, I was told "I don't have to, I can just look at it and tell." After having to pay a wrecker to get it there, they wanted me to fit another bill to get it over to Bellamy Strickland. That's been several days ago and the truck is still sitting in there parking lot. This is not the 1st issue I've had with them. One instance I noticed a big scratch on my door that they tried to wipe off last oil change. Had another instance they didn't change my oil and the charged me for it. Another instance where I had my tires rotated and they knocked off the balancing weights. Run from this place!!! read more

One star to many! Being a loyal and thought a valued customer as family has purchased Over a dozen cars/trks let my guard down and let that nasty word "assume" I would be treated right. Did not do my usual pre checks on car until got home. On lot car had on window payments of $312 Calc's out at price of $15000 at the int rate we got. My deal: Manager says he Will throw out a carrot of $1000 and he did but after raising the price Of car $5000 so we're talking $4000 grand over advertised price of car. Took my displeasure to Cronic Chevrolet and omitting very negative negotiations was offered a customer care offer to reimburse me 25% of Cronics math it was only $2000. Balking at that offer was raised to 50%. Simple math I'm only intitled to half of what I got screwed out of! Now there defense is I pulled the wrong car up when I ck'd it. Now if you use VIN # how is it possible to get wrong car? How is it possible that the car they think I accessed has at least half dozen identical items of My car, m mileage, history, etc? Quite a coincidence I would say. Appears they would rather support their integrity by putting mine in Question. Their theory is if you can't support your position with fact Baffle them with B.S. Last note you basically calling me a liar as to my Information as it so obvious how quick you claimed that since I didn't Print my acquired info and I quote "Then you have no proof". I personally think that these people don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I had my car worked on three months ago, and when I picked it up the told me that they replaced the coil packs, every time I would talk to them about my car for the entire two months that they had it they would find something else wrong. I spent 2300 dollars in this shop and found three months later that I needed a catalytic converter due to faulty coil packs, I was then told by Cronic, "We only replaced one of them." so I was lied to. Another mechanic told me that they should have been replaced together. Now Cronic wants another $300.00. Honestly, I will pick my car up and take it to Bellamy Strickland, where I can get a real mechanic to work on it. Not to mention, they should reimburse me for the catalytic converter, because of their negligence. read more

Not only did he find my car in less than a week, when I got the call that the vehicle had been found, he informed me that the vehicle would be at my disposal that very afternoon. The car was more than I could ever ask for. Greg even walked me through the process to make my buying experience a pleasure....I felt like I mattered and not just another sale.
