Vibes: 5/5 -- Cute, lively, and such a fun atmosphere. Service: 5/5 -- Friendly, attentive, and on point! Cocktails: 5/5 -- Dangerous... because they were WAY too easy to drink. Now let's talk about the FOOD because Crocante was definitely crocan-teasing my taste buds. Carne Guisado -- 4/5 Super tender, delicious, and the definition of Puerto Rican comfort food. I personally wanted a little more garlic because apparently I believe garlic should be measured with your heart, not a spoon. But still DELISH! Crocante Mix Appetizer -- 5/5 Crunchy. Juicy. Tender. DELISH. Basically a little Puerto Rican party on a platter. Not a crumb was safe. Stuffed Chicken Breast -- 5/5 Flavorful, tender, perfectly stuffed...and THAT GARLIC SAUCE?! Somebody tell the chef I need that sauce bottled, labeled, and available by the gallon immediately. Arroz Crocante -- 5/5 PACKED with flavor! This rice was not invited to be a side dish -- it showed up ready to be the MAIN CHARACTER. Overall, Crocante takes the Puerto Rican flavors we know and love and gives them a fun, elevated twist without losing the soul of the food. ¡Wepa! Delicious food, great drinks, great service, great vibes... Crocante, nos vemos otra vez! Can't wait to go back and eat my way through more of the menu.

Here's your review:…read more --- I have lived here my whole life and probably driven past Crocante a thousand times without ever stopping. From the outside you would never guess what is waiting for you inside. Tucked within a plaza this place is stunning, big, beautiful and feels like a full trip to a high end Puerto Rican dining experience the moment you walk through the door. We went on a Saturday night without a reservation and were still seated at a communal high top which we did not mind at all. We started with the alcapurrias and although they were on the smaller side the flavor was insane. For my main I had the mofongo and churrasco and wow. The best mofongo I have had. They put actual pieces of chicharrón inside which gave it the most incredible texture contrast. The churrasco was cooked to perfection and came already sliced into strips with an incredible chimichurri sauce on the side. My fiancé ordered the rice and beans with fried chicken and we loved every bite. The passion fruit juice was also amazing and a must order. The one thing to note is that our food took about 45 minutes to come out and our server did not check on us in the meantime for refills or to give us a heads up about the wait. That part could use some improvement. But the food was so incredibly good that we are absolutely coming back. Hidden gem that deserves way more recognition.

The lady at the register was patient with me as I stumbled through my broken Spanish. She didn't suggest switching to English, so I must have been speaking reasonably well. So I ordered the carne frita (fried pork) with a side of tostones. When I go to any Latin restaurant, I have to try the tostones. Ever since Rice & Beans closed I've been on the quest for some good tostones. Piñones' tostones (no rhyme intended) were decent, but not quite what I hoped for. The star of the meal was the carne frita. It was hot, juicy and flavorful. I'll likely try it again in a mofongo.

The fried chicken wasn't bad, it had flavor and the tostones were nice and crispy. We didn't care for the rest though. The arroz con gandules was the driest I have ever had! The carne frita/maditas de cerdo had NO seasoning. I was so shocked! They tasted like unseasoned pork and oil! I was so disappointed because I wanted those so bad. The alcapurria de carne was ok, but nothing I would crave or come back for. There was no ac and it was like 90 degrees outside. If I lived local I would've taken the food to go but unfortunately, I had to sit there and suffer to eat one of the sorriest excuses for puerto rican food I've had so far. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately for us it was a big miss. The ladies working there didn't look happy to be there but neither would I if I had to work in those conditions! It was like a sauna!

I was a bit disappointed with both the service and the food during my visit…read more While the food had good flavor, it was not served very hot. The yuca was hard, though I asked for the softest pieces from the bottom, if you know about Yuca you know what I mean. I had gone wanting the roast chicken but right when it got to my turn to place my order, they had run out. So I got the pork. I specifically asked the employee for pieces with less fat, and she responded in a way that seemed annoyed. Unfortunately, the pork I received was nearly half fat, even though I requested less fat and more meat. The worst was the piece of pork skin, it was soggy, any Puerto Rican or Cuban will tell you this is No Bueno The rice was probably the best part of the meal, even though it was not served very hot. Overall, for the price I paid, I expected better food quality, customer service, and consistency. I may give it another opportunity if I'm in the area again and it's earlier in the day though I went on a weekday right after work, 5 ish to be exact but it should be consistent.

When you walk up to the truck you are greeted by the friendly workers who advise you to place your order on the screen and if you need assistance they are more than happy to help. Once your order is placed they will send you a text message when it's ready. They do have a little canopy area with tables and seating, but it's so hot to be outside I opted to wait and eat in my car. We waited about 30 minutes before receiving our food and once we received it you could tell everything was freshly made. We ordered a combo that came with 2 pinchos, 2 pieces of bread, 2 orders of loaded fries,2 mofongo balls. And 2 drinks. The pincho meat is big meaty chunks and well seasoned. These were some of the biggest pinchos I've found in Orlando and the price was really reasonable. The loaded fries were ok, just typical fries with bacon and cheese. These mofongo balls had good seasoning, they weren't dry at all, and the perfect portion. The garlic bread was good as well and was soft. Overall everything was great! The seasoning on all the food was perfect, the portions were more than enough, and the prices extremely reasonable. The only negative I have to say is that it took long for us to receive the food but everything was freshly made and I appreciate all the hard work they do during the extremely hot fl summer.

My flan was semi dry no juice to it or cream in taste. I do not know if I would go again and order something else. My two friends split a paella $85.00 and and two sangrias ...when they got their $ 118 .00 bill for the lunch with tip they almost passed out. They said it was good but not that price good for a lunch menu. But the presentation of the paella in a grilled fish was surprising.

Our waitress, Stephanie T., was wonderful! Since it was our first time visiting and we aren't very familiar with Puerto Rican cuisine, we had quite a few questions while looking over the menu. She was extremely knowledgeable and took her time explaining the different dishes, ingredients, and options to us. She was patient, friendly, and never made us feel rushed, which made ordering something new much easier and more enjoyable. And when I say the portions are LARGE, I mean it! We ordered the La Chorrera, and it is easily enough food for two people to share. The whole snapper is also huge and could definitely feed two people, especially with the sides. You absolutely get your money's worth here, so come hungry! The atmosphere was another highlight. The décor, music, energy, and overall vibe make you feel like you've taken a little trip to Puerto Rico without ever leaving town. It's lively, colorful, welcoming, and really adds to the experience of enjoying the food. Between the delicious food, generous portions, strong drinks, great service, and amazing atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. We will absolutely be back!
