I just visited "La Perla", and I was impressed! It's a nice Italian restaurant in the heart of…read moreMagdeburg. Ample outside seating area with shades, and a lovely inside dining area. There's also a bar and you can purchase ice cream. I was seated quickly "you can sit anywhere", and I ordered a standard size pizza salame and a beer. While waiting I was served a free appetizer- a bruschetta and a freshly baked mini pizza bun and some pesto cream. A welcome surprise! Bruschetta and bun were great, the cream seemed to be pesto mayonnaise which I didn't like. Some olive oil would have been better, but oh well. I also got a paper napkin. Big deal, right? Right! This was the nicest paper napkin I've ever seen! It felt like linen, and I had to check twice. The printed logo was the giveaway. Anyway, then the pizza came. Tasted great, looked great, tasted great. Authentic. And huge! Too large to finish for most people. I paid €17 for pizza and a beer, which is not cheap but not expensive either. So overall, I recommend this place!

The food was good, but service was horrible. Thought we would get a pizza for our 2 year old before…read morebed. It took more than an hour for a pizza with salami.
