Patrick King Attorney At Law

Patrick King Attorney At Law

(5 reviews)

Patrick King took my call this morning. This is lengthy,…read moreplease read it entirely, especially the last four paragraphs. My hope is that someone reading this can relate and need to hire, or contact an Attorney. Patrick King made me aware of my rights and it instantly gave me complete peace. I have a great life and blessed beyond. A wonderful career of 21+ years as Executive Manager of a small Financial Firm in Portland, Oregon. This was interrupted with my only child filing an order for hearing to extend, modify or dissolve a protective order that never existed. Living in a different state and 600 miles away requested a phone hearing. This request was granted and hearing was held May 5th. This was all due to me sending a message asking her if she was interested in her items she left behind of hers and my grand-daughters with her Grandmother and stuff I collected. Due to buying a smaller house and not wanting to continue to store them. When a simple "yes", or "no" would have sufficed she chose to use this opportunity to do what she does best. Believe me, it is NOT healthy and don't want to drag her through the mud, or air her dirty laundry. She sent three threatening letters to the President of the Company harassing phone calls, and one of them she claim to be a county employee of Carson City wanted to speak to our mailing department. I was informed the order was not granted right away because the Judge did not like what he read, and wanted to hear from me. The court's technology has not evolved to have video hearings, only phone hearings. Do not ever request this type of hearing as the connection and reception is horrible. I was unable to hear when the Judge was speaking, and when I could hear it was difficult to make out what was being said by him, or the Plaintiff. When I heard silence I thought it was the Judge asking me to speak on the allegations. It was only when I heard the clerk call my name and tell me to be quiet, that I was aware the Judge was talking. I was never allowed to say anything and the Judge only referenced one document out of the numerous ones sent to refute allegations. When I asked if I was allowed to speak the Judge told me he had already made a ruling. WHAT?? He then decided to schedule another hearing and told me he wanted me to be present. That is a 600 mile drive one way for me. I requested another phone hearing due to working full-time, the distance, and the costs of witnesses and my lodging he said it would be better to be in person. I then realized it was due to the fact of the poor connection and told him if it would make a better impression then I would do it. After hanging up I was baffled this was even signed by a Judge and scheduled for a hearing.. Then I thought heck she can have her way, I don't want anything to do with her, haven't contacted her and it is a civil case. The President expressed concern and thought I should contact our legal department for advice on how this may, or may not, affect my position here. I did this, and went home early. I cried most of the night because this is a trip that would be costly, involved other family members, and one of my grandsons that my daughter gave up for adoption. It sickened me at the thought of being in a courtroom. My daughter on one side, her son and Mother on the opposing side. I cried and cried. My 23 year old grandson living in New York said he would fly to the hearing, expressing the importance of being honest, telling the truth and felt if his biological Mom saw him there representing the truth and honesty she would stop. I am 60 years old, my daughter turning 41 this month. She doesn't seek any voice of reason, is bipolar, suffers manic depression, and doesn't care if you are her son, mother, grandmother; or, any other family member. She will throw you under the bus, drag you through the mud, manipulate, lie and do whatever it takes if at any point you disagree with her. Now that I painted this picture for you I want to express my deepest gratitude for Patrick King taking my call instantly. He was very kind, understanding and compassionate. There was never a sense of hurry up and get me off the phone. Patrick took the needed time to help me. Patrick made me aware of my right to object to personal jurisdiction of the court. This was the most valuable advice and the solution to my situation. I was at complete peace for the first time since March 30th when this all began. I offered to pay him for his time and he would not accept payment. PLEASE re-read the last four paragraphs of this extensive review. Just as one bad attorney can set a precedence for them all, let's change this stigma One Good Attorney can set a precedence for them all. Thank you and my deepest appreciation to your ethics, morals, understanding and giving me peace and closure. Robin Maddalena
