After asking who made these divine goodies... we were told they were from Tarragona (my all-time favorite pastry shop in Alghero). They sell these for 1.00€ each, which is cheaper than buying them directly from Tarragona. Get there early to make sure you can get one! 2) Inexpensive Prices Regular espresso coffee is 1.00€, and no extra add-on fee for sitting down. 3) Friendly service The service was super friendly and the woman serving us even emembered us several days later when we returned. 4) Central Location Two minutes from the historic center and just around the corner from the Port of Alghero, it's easy to reach on foot. 5) Cute decor Their is an outdoor area with seats and umbrellas, although it faces a busy street, it's nice to have the option to sit outside. The inside interior is decroated in a vintage stylel, modern with chalkboard menus on the wall.

They also have a wide selection of ice cream and desserts. The selection of desserts for us needing GF was quite slim, but the ice creams more than make up for it. When it comes to food, we on GF diet and/or fodmap diet will have this stick to the salads or the carpaccios. Both of them however did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive and service minded. They do have an indoor section as well as a completely outdoor section too. We got the spaghetti vongole, the ravioli, two oysters and tiramisu for dessert. The oysters were much different than the oysters I'm used to back in the States but still super fresh and refreshing. The spaghetti vongole was delicious. It was made very simply with really nice olive oil, plenty of clams, and sprigs of parsley. It could've used a little bit of parmesan on top but it also had plenty of flavor on its own. My sister enjoyed her ravioli and said the prawn was one of the best she's ever had and she wished there were more! We both loved the tiramisu too. It didn't have a ton of espresso flavor but I actually liked that. I would definitely come back to Chalet in the future. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is nice, the food seemed authentic, and the staff was friendly enough.
