Emily is amazing with our young Boston Terrier- she really speaks dog and teaches their human (me)…read morehow to work with their dog and what to do and not do to get the best results. I've had four sessions with Emily and plan on more because my dog is training to be a service dog and Emily does that, too!

Emily is such an enormous gift!…read more I am owner training my first ever service dog. We spent nearly a year taking constant group classes, focusing on basic obedience, novice rally and agility. I immediately task trained a couple of basics and slowly started working on public access as my puppy grew. Just prior to her one year birthday her confidence seemed to evaporate and I had no clue how to help her as I am brand new to dog training. When I reached out to Emily she responded immediately and gave me multiple options to open communication. We spoke on the phone for over 40 minutes before I ever paid a cent which really amazed me. Emily has what I would describe as a holistic approach and she is so experienced and extremely knowledgeable! Working with Emily is everything for which I hoped and more. She is very flexible working around my disabilities and we trade off handling my dog as needed. Emily explains both the body language meaning as well as how my choices are being received by my dog. She helps me understand not only what I'm doing wrong, but *why* it doesn't work and she NEVER makes me feel bad about my lack of knowledge or my mistakes. She is very encouraging and for each lesson we've talked about where my pain points are as well as when, where and how to practice plus reviewing I need to change/avoid. I've still got plenty of work to do but with Emily as a resource I'm much more confident my dog and I can get through these growing pains. Emily is extremely patient; after a spinal injury I am much slower to process new information and I have habits from decades of horse training that are coming in and are counterproductive when handling my dog. Emily shows me examples as many times as I need and always thoroughly answers *all* of my questions about what/how/when and I always feel like I not only learned a lot, but learned EXACTLY what I needed to move forward in training my dog. It's easy to see results when I apply the skills I learn from Emil resulting in drastically improved communication between myself and my dog. Emily's pricing feels extremely fair; after my first lesson I felt everything I learned was worth the price I paid for four lessons! The one on one attention and having everything catered to our needs is exactly what was necessary to help us move forward and get un-stuck with our training. It's also a huge blessing for us that Emily has so much experience with training service dogs and understands the need for my dog to know how to intelligently break commands if she needs to task. The balance between helping my puppy understand how to look to me for guidance and keeping her confident enough to task for me is tricky, particularly given my total lack of experience. Emily understands my goals and concerns and has tailored all of our training perfectly! I have learned so much and am excited to continue working with her and my dog. Hiring Emily is one of the best things I've ever done for my dog. I can't recommend her highly enough!

I reached out to Dick to inform him of our loss and of Coach's subsequent problems-he got out to our new house as soon as he could, we worked him for a couple of hours this morning. We are so grateful for Dick, he's always there to answer questions, he's upfront and honest about what we're doing that's creating issues and he makes the training fun and enjoyable for all of us! I know he'll help us guide Coach through his grief and when we're ready to add to our family, we know Dick will be there to help every step of the way!

Dick, has been a blessing to work with. Trusting someone with my little old grandma of a dog Hazel…read moreis not easy, especially when she's so set in her ways. Dick was able to identify Hazel's problems immediately and right away organized a game plan to minimize her bad habits. He reiterated that training is not going to be an overnight thing, however after the first day of training , I can tell Hazel was reacting positively to the certain changes. She is still stubborn and sometimes going back to the bad habits, but I can always know that I can contact Dick if I ever need help with anything. It was a pleasure to work with him and just know that if you sign up with him, you'll have a person in your corner no matter the time or day.

Hands down the best place to get your pups groomed. I have 5 dogs 3 of which need regular grooming…read more The Shed Pet Grooming is where we go and I couldn't be more happy. The owner I knew when she worked for another place but I was so happy to hear she got her own shop! I have a rescue Golden who doesn't like his feet touched but they work through it with no issues. He didn't even have to be muzzled just told no.. He is a golden through and through. Both our Goldens look amazing when they come back and our small Yorkie mix is just a doll after they are done with her. Not only do we use them personally but our rescue uses them for dogs in need of grooming as well. They also support our rescue by donating services to our auction. Truly a small business supporting local.

this is an ACTUAL CUSTOMER REVIEW OF THE SHED DOG GROOMING IN LAFAYETTE OREGON…read more I have 2 small dogs. dog one is a terrier and i requested just a plain hair cut for her...not any "style" , just cut it all a true inch long all over he4r body. Her coat wound up just chopped - done with scissors! they did not use a clipper - they may not have one or know how to use one. even her ears - one ear was trimmed pointing down at the front of the ear flap. the other ear was pointed the opposite way. dog 2 was only to get a shampoo, nails trimmed and a "sanitary swipe" up the rear end. she is part Pomeranian and had beautiful "feathers" on her tail and back legs especially - the length of all of her rear end feathers were cut about half way off. not all of her nails got cut - the more difficult nails were just left - you could feel the difference between the cut and uncut nails. they had no answer for any of it. i waited a few weeks before contacting them. i didn't want to be angry on the phone.( i did get a bit heated but no name calling. i told them i would contact the chamber of commerce and their small town business association) their response was very aloof and negative . i wanted some money back. nope and they charge top dollar. i took pics but its hard to see specific dings - dog 1 came out looking like she had been groomed months before. avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid - many better options than the Shed in Lafayette Oregon. Lafayette is a lovely small town by the way,
