It has been and continues to be a positive place for our munchkins to learn dance (and made some good friends to boot). The parking lot is huge and there is no problem. The courts are well maintained. The space between courts is manageable. There is a stadium court with bleachers. We didn't play there. The facility has Porta potty, or you have to go inside the facility at the main entrance to use the restrooms.the locker rooms and restrooms are very nicely maintained. The staff is very friendly, and then I used one of the places to use my laptop and got the wifi password as well. There is a pro shop that carries a lot of tennis essentials and racquets, a stringing machine too. They do carry occasional racquets on sale.

As a Hempfield resident for 15 years I've had many interactions with the Rec Center. While I've…read morenever been a member, I've attended free classes when they were available, went on a bus trip they offered, had my daughter in the after school childcare program they run, as well as a dance class. More recently I've paid a per person daily fee to use the pool, although it does also allow you to use the entire facility. One thing I will say is it is aways crowded, no matter what time or where you are in the building. Classes fill up quick. Swimming classes are booked several months in advance, and the lot is always full. One thing that is disappointing, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 is the before/after school program. While when my daugher was in school it was available to any parent that needed it. Now, they have limited spots and no opening. My grandson has been on a wait list now since August and it's now Feb. That sucks for working parents! And it could very well be a sign of the times post covid, with employee shortages. The indoor pool is wonderful. I have yet, even after all these years been to the one outside in season but I'm sure it's equally as impressive. The indoor pool is large, and while you do need to check the schedule for free swim times, they do have it roped off for laps. I believe it goes to 13' and has a diving board. There's tables/chairs around the pool to put your stuff and a changing area in that area. There is also locker rooms down the hallway. The ladies has a dry sauna, showers, and a machine that rings out your suits. I especially like that pool toys, floats, and swim aids are allowed, as I take my three young grandchildren, none of which can swim. You do need to bring your own towels, etc. I do think the pricing is high for membership as well as a $10/per person daily rate if like me you just stop in to use the pool. The $10/pp was firm, even for my one grandson who is an infant. Still a great place to patronize. Check their website because they are very community minded and some of their special events do not require membership although they might have a small fee.

I've been taking hip-hop instruction at e-dance for the last three years and am about to start my fourth year and will be adding a class in pop video. e-dance offers instruction for all ages (small kids to adults) and in all styles including ballet, tap, hip hop, modern, and much more. The staff and instructors are wonderful and full of energy and enthusiasm. Every year, at the end of the dance season e-dance puts on a killer show at the Hershey Theatre. Her corrections were frequent, helpful, and relevant to each dancer's level. The studio was bright and airy, the music was beautiful, and I'm certain there were more than a few current or former pros in the class. My classmates were welcoming and by far the friendliest I've experienced while traveling. What a wonderful experience -- I'm only sorry that I didn't find this studio sooner for my biannual visits to Lancaster.

It was advertised as exploring creative movement. We get there and the older teacher was just immediately frustrated that the TODDLERS weren't listening. The class today was the last straw. My 2 year old was doing fine but when it came to mat time, she didn't like her legs being stretched to touch her head so she walked away from the mat with another child and sat on the wall. The teacher told her that she would need to leave if she didn't listen so my child stood up and walked towards me at the window that I was directly behind. The old teacher went up to her and the other little girl and in front of a room full of classmates, parents, and other children told the 2 babies that they were "done" and kicked them out of class. I called after and the old teacher said this was a structured class where they are teaching the girls dance. She said she was "removing the distraction." Meanwhile 3 other little girls were just laying on the mat not doing what they were supposed to do. A structured class for 2 year old toddlers, whatever that possibly means. She embarrassed those children who just didn't feel comfortable getting stretched out by strangers. They are also refusing to refund me the money for the remaining classes that of course my daughter will not be attending. What a joke of an establishment.

I attended a dance class preview for free & the class was lead by the school's owner Alyssa. I knew immediately that this place was for me. As soon as you walk through those doors, you're not judged by your age or size or background or level of experience. There is a place for everyone. Everyone was so welcoming. The entire place has an atmosphere of community. The class selections are top tier. The teachers are so warm and willing to answer questions. These last 7 months have been so enjoyable and the accomplishments I've felt have been so rewarding. At my big of almost mid-40s, I now take classes five days a week; I take Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Praise, West African, and Hip Hop. I also take PBT (pilates + ballet) & their Stretch class. All beginner level and I moved onto my first intermediate class for Tap. Every week I'm excited to see what is in store for me. As someone who works from home, this place not only gets me more active, but allows me an amazing social connection & networking experience with likeminded individuals.
