Lovely little shop. Very refreshing to have a nice large consignment shop in the area, there's not…read moretoo much else like it. The selection is pretty great and I've never had a problem with the staff. Very nice people, from what I've seen. Prices vary but in the cases of my interests, they're awfully cheap for what it is. If you want to sell there, keep in mind this is a resale shop and thus you're bound to get less than the worth of the item, as they still need to make a profit off it. Maybe selling in lots would be worth it, but individual rare items are best off elsewhere if you want full value. Anyways, I highly recommend this shop to anyone who thrifts collectibles. Often the prices are better than eBay's!

What a terrible experience!…read more I walked into the TLC Shop with four items which I had preemptively priced according to "Sold" listings on eBay, which by the way is the exact manner that the people of this business determine their prices rather than using it as a reference to supplement their knowledge of the products they buy and sell. In fact, it would seem that they have no knowledge of the products they buy and sell at all. Before they even looked up my items they displayed distaste for them, with no reasoning at all and no knowledge of the items other than that they "don't usually buy PS2 games." Well, as any gamer would know, the games I had were Baldur's Gate and Star Ocean; an immensely popular ARPG and a moderately nostalgic and still quite loved JRPG respectively. As they also probably know, PS2 games generally have no value. Even considering it was the most popular system ever LONG after it's release (and continues to go strong, even with an imminent release of PS4), the market was just flooded with games for the system. Any RPG'er will tell you however: these ones definitely ARE worth something. Maybe they're not a mint FF7 or Suikoden but they're still very sellable, which I made sure of before I even left my house. People still love these games, and as far as I know neither has been re-released on any console's premium store (Xbox Marketplace or PS3 Arcade)... eBay had over twenty sold listings TODAY at or around $10 on Baldur's Gate, and a similar amount at a wider range of $5-$15 on SOTET. Alright sure, so I'm not trying to make bank here... I literally told them that between the two games, a brand new hockey stick, and a virtually unused laser (not optical!) USB mouse... I wanted to make between $1.50 and $5.00 to feed my nicotine addiction. Maybe it's not the most lucrative transaction they might make that day, but it's definitely a profit. And I'm a customer. The guy straight up lied to my face about the value of the games. I've amassed thousands of positive feedback on eBay. I know what I'm doing. He was extremely condescending, treating me as though I had no idea how to search sold listings on eBay. All he quoted were bid snipes of a few dollars, telling me he can't sell the item and make money, and refused to acknowledge the reality that plenty of them were selling per day at a much higher rate than he was quoting. Also, the owner was standing there and didn't say a word and no one even considered valuing my other items at all. One dollar and fifty cents is what I wanted from this store. I frequent their store, both buying and selling. I couldn't manage $1.50 out of at LEAST $35 worth of items, selling at THEIR value. Even if they had bought one of my items at a measly $1.50 and THREW IT AWAY, they'd have lost less money than they did by treating me so poorly, allowing me to walk out completely dissatisfied and even angry, and losing a loyal customer for life and potentially a large amount more from word of mouth. If you want to sell something, don't go here at all. Besides their elitist attitudes, (you're running a thrift shop in Kittanning for heaven's sake, get off your high horse!) they still don't pay what they honestly COULD and still make a reasonable profit on items that they DO buy. They seem to have little knowledge of the products they buy and sell and even less about customer service. Sure, if you're just going in to look for a book, a little piece of furniture, an old CD, or midrange electronics and are ready to pay exactly face value for what it's worth (often more, actually), by all means this is YOUR store! But honestly, there's two (three?) other thrift shops within two blocks that have more friendly staff and realistic thrift prices, albeit non-comparable amounts of items. In summary: Bad customer service, poor decision-making, sketchy buying practices and most importantly, extremely poor customer service leads me to rate this store a 1 out of 5. Almost forgot to mention that their customer service is absurdly awful. I'd rather stand on the street corner twenty yards away and try to barter with passersby than walk into that store again. Even if they had free cookies.
