I would stay away from this business. So many things went wrong with them. If you have a one in a life time event I will search somewhere else. Im glad the owner replied to this review. First of all it doesn't matter where the reception took place ( family's house) . My wife was not happy with the set up. You guys didnt even take the freedom to stop by and evaluate the venue after a down-payment was made. You guys knew that the existing house-porch was 10 feet tall why wouldn't you flush that with your tent ( if you would have evaluated the venue then you probably would have prepared yourself for it). Thank God it didnt rain or the tent you guys put would have been there only for show. If you look at the picture , all the rain would have ran on our guests . The event started at 5:30pm by 8 there was no water . The light in the restroom did not work, it was installed inside and it was solar light (Do you charge those before or how do you know it will stay up all night). My sister scheduled a paid walkthrough on 12/30 and submitted a $50 deposit. The company failed to appear at the scheduled time and provided no prior notice or communication. Nearly two hours later, someone reached out to apologize, explaining that Juan, the owner, was busy and forgot the appointment. While an apology was offered, forgetting a paid service should not fall on the customer. After this experience, we reviewed prior customer feedback and noticed a pattern of missed appointments and delays, which is concerning. Looks nice but for the amount of money you pay the company lacks professionalism, pushes blame on to the customer at every turn and comes with excuses. Lacks ingenuity & professionalism. Some of our linens were moldy as well. They delayed my pick up by 3 days, luckily the venue was at a family's house but if it was at a venue we booked we would be paying additional late fees due to their lack of ingenuity and their response would be "contract". The company is not keeping honest with their contract so please read it. You're better off spending more money to a company that has their stuff in order and does not give excuses. They show you a price on instagram, but once you tell them you need it delivered the day before (they wanted to set up since Wednesday) they will charge you more fees! They also charge a labor fee on the invoice, why is it just not included in the pricing when advertising? Upon delivery I noticed that the drapes were all dirty and stained! I initially wrote a bad review for this company because even though I had been talking to them back-and-forth for two months and was just waiting for my contract to solidify their services, they told me they were not available for my party. In all honesty, I believe my bad review ignited them to realize that they made a mistake and they were able to service me after all. I loved the set up that they did for me as far as the drapery with the twinkle lights (though, the twinkle lights were not initially delivered) and I loved their wooden cross back chairs as it went very nicely with my garden themed event. I get it, they're a family owned business and maybe they grew exponentially overnight so they don't have the infrastructure to manage all the traffic directed towards their company. That being said, I would say some flaws that they have that they can definitely improve on would be their communication, as they had miscommunicated with me a few times or lacked follow up. I felt I often had to follow up with them, such as with the initial contract, when my items would be delivered, checking in to see if they were running late when they gave me a window of time when they were going to deliver items but missed that window, really no communication as far as when picking up of items was going to take place except a few hours before on the day of (which we were able to sort out in the end). And again, this can all be because they are going through some growing pains as they expand quickly. Overall, I really liked Julio, who I believe is a co-owner. I met him the day before my party when he came back that evening to add the twinkle lights to my drapery (because they were initially forgotten). He had a friendly personality and was apologetic and even teased about the bad review I initially made. All in all, had the initial misunderstanding not happened, I'd give them five stars. Because of that, and some communication deficits which left a bad taste in my mouth, I'd have to rate them more so at a 3.5. Since Yelp doesn't allow for half points, and I liked Julio overall, I'll give them a 4, with the hopes that they take into consideration my critique and improve on certain areas they were lacking. read more

From start to finish the crew at Cricket Party Services went above and beyond to make our 25th wedding anniversary special. We had asked to schedule a consultation because we were unsure of what could fit in our space. Julio came out with great energy and was able to help us bring our vision to life. We reviewed the process and got to work scheduling everything we needed for our big day. Julio had suggested, what we had not even thought of, cooling fans, which were a tremendous help as it had reached 100 degrees on the day of our event. It was a godsend. Along the way, we had some changes to what we wanted like going from farm tables to round tables and changing the color of the linens. His team was able to make the adjustments we needed and delivered everything early so that we were able to set up our big day without having to rush around the day of. I was really excited to work with this team for my wedding. I intentionally started following the on IG a year ago when a friend referred them. Due to the Altadena fires we couldn't book early enough bc we weren't sure if the house (my in laws) would be ready. Once I got the green light that all was good, I reached out to them on IG. We scheduled 9 am slot, my fiancée and I made work accommodations to be off in the morning to meet with him. We waited. 20 mins past 9am I texted Julio to see if he was still coming bc we had not heard from him, he said he was running late but would be there in 20min. He wasn't. I called him close to 10am and he said he'd be there closer to 11am. At this point my fiancée had left back to work and I had be back by 11am. He apologized and said he could meet later. We agreed to 6pm and he said, "I'll see you at 6pm sharp." I left work with ample time to meet him there bc I like to be mindful of peoples time. I texted him at 5:57pm and told I was there. He replied "Perfect, I'm leaving the warehouse." I got irritated for lack of consideration - no text no nothing on either instance. He arrived 30min later. After he arrived and did our walk through, he said he would send me the quote the next day (Thursday), I did not receive it. I reached out Friday, confirmed my email, still did not receive it. I reached out again on Sunday, nothing. I reached out through IG a couple times also. I didn't get the quote until Thursday of the following week. Frustrating. When he finally sent it, I asked for adjustments of colors and things I didn't need. He was responsive at this point. When I had the order ready to go, I asked if he'd be able to consider a disc bc of the missed appt when we took time off work - and he was a no show. Instead of giving me a professional no (which I would've accepted) he sent me a passive aggressive text and right away they posted on their IG something about "away with those who want hook ups." No. I was not looking for a hook up! I was asking for the same consideration that you ask from clients. You charge fees to customer when they aren't ready for pick up or delivery times. Why wouldn't you treat the customer with same courtesy that you expect from them? read more

It's such a bummer to see/read the other 1-star reviews here because my (now) wife and I used Cricket Party Services for our wedding 6/1/2024 and they were great! They have a wide selection of rentals and competitive prices! We did a modest wedding at our home so we had to make the most of every square foot. The most important and critical element that transformed the driveway into a whimsical/magical space was the tunnel of twinkling lights. I worked with Julio about 95% of the time coordinating design intent and logistics. He was always very responsive throughout the process and his calm demeanor was perfect for a time of chaos and running around trying to make everything come together. I sent site plans with inspiration images to ensure that we could achieve the look we were going for. _tent and twinkle lights Julio and his crew showed up on time the day before the wedding to set up the structure. It is important to be there on site to help direct the crew to make sure you're getting what you want; it's a team effort! I won't bore you with the details but the jist of it is that it wasn't being set up the way I envisioned but the crew and I worked with what materials we had and got the structure up to span the whole width of the driveway. Circulation was going to be tight as it was. Also, differing from the images on their website, we wanted the warm twinkle lights to be much denser pool on the ground (less rigid/tension). This meant that we needed maybe 2x the number of lights. As the crew was stringing them up, we realized that we wouldn't be able to complete the tunnel - there were some other rolls but some didn't work and others were colder/white. Julio came by with a roll (or two) more to fill in the gaps! This had me sweating but the main point of this experience is that the Cricket crew was communicative, willing to collaborate and do beyond what they're used to, and very accommodating! _8' wood tables These were great and they served their purpose. The only thing that I wish is that the legs were all located in the same position. If someone wanted to butt them up to create a 16' long table, a chair should be able to be slid between the two tables. This worked for some but the distances were pretty inconsistent. _linens The linens were great! no comments here! _chairs We had a contingency in the quantity of fruitwood chairs (we had 93 guests and rented 150 chairs) because we didn't want to have guests move chairs as we transitioned from ceremony to reception. We were glad we did this because some of the chairs were damaged beyond use (the seat turned the other way). I stacked them in a separate pile and let the crew know that these should be repaired, replaced, or discarded. The clean-up was very quick - they were in and out. They even let us keep a couple of the 8' tables and chairs to host the following day's brunch with some close friends and family. Julio picked them up within the next week. Everything was priced very fairly and we worked everything out! read more

We used Cricket Party Services for a weekend baby shower. It was very easy to place our order online, and text with customer service to answer questions. The guys dropped off the tables, chairs and umbrellas the day before and sent me photo confirmation because I was at work. We used Cricket this past Saturday for a home event. We rented a 20x20 canopy. Everyone at Cricket was very professional and accommodating. Lily was able to confirm my order a week prior to the event. I was told they would come install the canopy on Friday and they arrived early Friday morning and completed the installation in about 30 minutes, very quick and efficient. Julio advised with the placement and it worked great with the heat. They provided a fluorescent light but we didn't need it. We were told the canopy would be removed Sunday which they did and again very efficiently. Everyone at Cricket was easy to work with and very efficient. Booked over a year ago for wedding and was not given proper tent size to accommodate guest size which is weird because you think they'd quote you to fit all guest with tables/chairs. Absolutely no communication throughout the year no follow up what so ever I was already over it. They showed up and start setting up I see them doing something I didn't want with our tent (full draping) and so I go up and said hey what are you doin this I what I wanted and show a picture (semi draping) . instead of fixing it they said "this is what you paid for so this is what your getting" mind you semi draping would've probably been cheaper and less work I didn't even care that I paid more I just wanted what I wanted for my day but customer satisfaction obviously didn't matter to them. For pick up drop off there horrible on communication they just call and say "I'm here". I honestly don't recommend them at all there prices are cheap but you really get what you pay for with there service , and horrible communication unless your a big event I feel like they don't take your day into consideration to go above and beyond for you which you'd think they would by there post but it's all just a facade to book and end up not getting prioritized. I engaged their services pretty last minute for tables, chairs, and china for an Anniversary party, they took their time and thoughtfully helped me make decisions. The X-legged farm tables were especially lovely, everyone at the party commented on them! We found out day of the party that some of the china plates didn't match up (an understandable oversight as they all LOOK the same), and the team insisted on bringing by ready-to-use, upgraded china at the very last minute. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT TO EVER USE their services. I rented from Juan 3 months ago and reserved cocktail tables and extra chairs for my sister's baby shower. I emailed him, texted him, called and left several VM to ensure my order was taken and scheduled. He only responds once by email and once by text informing me that he will contact me one week before the event to confirm my order. 3 months pass by and the day before my sister's baby shower, I decided to contact him since I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM since then. Remember I have it documented in my email, that he will contact me one week before the event to confirm my order but he never did. I contact him the day before and left a VM. He contacts me FINALLY and says " I have bad news. , I cannot give you the 10 extra chairs you ordered." Do I have a choice guys??? of course not so I told him I will take whatever you have. I did not want to get upset at the moment because I needed those tables and 10 chairs. The day of the event, his brother contacts me and says can we deliver early. I said NO because the location is not open until 12:30 pm. His brother contacts me and says okay we will be there at 12:30 pm. They don't arrive until 1 pm. He informs me too on that day that he needs extra $40 for the inconvenience of unloading the tables and bringing it to my roof top which we have an elevator and dollys they could use. His brother said "oh we had to park far away and unload and we did not know it was in a roof top". I specifically informed Juan, my event was on the rooftop!!! Which means he never really paid attention to my email or VMs. Did I have a choice ? No, so I paid them extra 40 and gave an extra $30 dollar tip. I know I have not written a long review before as all my past experiences lately have been great BUT when I write a long review you should read it and take my advice. Don't ever use this services again and I sure will advice all my friends, families and followers regarding this. TRUST! read more
