CriHelp is not only a fantastic organization, but the Bingo Hall is one of the BEST! We have been supporting them for as long as they have been operating on Lankershim and really enjoy their operation. For the "Regulars", it is a place where everyone visits each week, checks up on one another and most of all - truly care about each other. We have made many great friends through the years. It is a great group to be associated with and a most enjoyable way to spend an evening! There are a wide variety of games and they play the most regular games out of any bingo hall that we have ever visited.
The following is in response to a previous post. For the record, I am a "Plaintiff"- this note is not hearsay or based on comments where I do not have the underlying facts - it is the truth. I wouldn't have felt the need to post this, but we wanted to correct any untruths that have been previously mentioned.
** Most important fact**: This organization, whom Mike (mentioned previously) is very involved with - helps people of all race, creed, ethnicity and gender, without bias.
Several months back, I spoke up for our group - we had a player sitting behind us who was talking in Full Voice in an ongoing conversation on her cell phone during the game. After we all gave this person several disgruntled looks (from everyone around us within our group of tables), we were all told by said person, to turn around. I responded, we're playing bingo, hang up your phone. I was then told to mind my business, which I responded, this is my business - I can't hear the caller. This person proceeded to make several comments and one was "let's take it outside to the parking lot". We ignored her comments from that point forward, but I absolutely went up and notified Mike and his very professional team about this situation. This was threatening to us, not to mention extremely inappropriate. We were being threatened for her bad behavior.... Bullies are everywhere, even at Bingo...
I am not sure if this is the example that the previous story is based on and I was not present for what may have followed. BUT, I do know, our situation could have been avoided if this person was courteous and respectful of their fellow players. If this is the same event, the mention of anything different seems to be a stretch without proper foundation.
There are rules at Bingo, just like everywhere else. The rules are simple - no cell phones, no loud talking, no smoking within the building, etc... It is very unfortunate that as grown adults, people choose to not follow the rules, they are obnoxious and rude and then cry foul... The only saving grace is, this is a very, very small percentage. To mention unfair or unfortunate, Mike is often placed in the unenviable position where he may have to dole out some discipline - to grown adults... This is pathetic, not an altercation. The real moral to this story is treat people the way you would like to be treated - with common courtesy and respect. You will find, not only will life be more enjoyable for all, negative comments will no longer be necessary.
Check out CriHelp Bingo Hall - not only will you be helping a great organization, but you will get to enjoy a fun night of Bingo too! read more
