Did a poor job on my cousin. Her color was awful and she was leaking! I wouldn't recommend this funeral home to anyone!

I have been trying to reach someone (anyone!) at the Cresthaven funeral home. I have left messages with the answering service 3 times now and still have not received a call back. My daughter's vase has been all but sheared off from the holder which is part of the grave marker. Most likely this was done by a careless lawn service and I am very upset....they did not inform me or anyone of the destruction and when I came from out of town this month to visit the gravesite I found the destroyed vase. I could not even remove it to turn it back inside the holder so it is crooked and torn apart. The keeping and protecting of the grave sites are their responsibility and if I can ever get ahold of anyone working there I would like to know when they are going to replace the vase?! I would never use them for a cemetery of a loved one again...they have disrespected the graveyard by not maintaining it and I always have to do the trimming around my daughters site...being out of town I trusted them to respectively take care of her resting place....I am beyond disappointed. read more

I'm not sure how or why ANYONE would allow someone's family memorial space to look like this. Cresthaven groundskeepers, owners, and staff are supposed to keep things up kept and actually place the death date information on the headstones. They are not doing that. The grave for my parents looks shameful. It's coated and caked in dried mud! They haven't put out the grass seed, kept the headstone clean... shameful. My mom passed in June 2020 and it's now April 2021 and they have not placed her death date on the headstone. Cresthaven should be ashamed of themselves. I've lived out of state for the last 5 years and came here to find this. I wish I could post the photos here. Aside from the grass being mowed, the whole cemetery is in a disheveled state. Headstones are randomly sitting on top of the ground where they've not been replaced after a burial. ALL the beautiful trees that lined the area where my parents were have been cut down and I can only assume after seeing the place today it is because they are too lazy to care for the trees and sweep up leaves in the fall. This used to be a beautiful cemetery. Now it is a sad, pitiful place. It makes me so angry they have allowed this! read more

My mother in law passed away 15 years ago and they were wonderful at helping pick out everything. I live out of town and from what I am now hearing, the grounds are continually overgrown and you cant get a straight answer on who is to mow and when. Also the mausoleum has severe issues with water leakage and is not kept up. We have also found that they lost my brother in laws marker, which was paid for along with his plot when my mother in law died. This place has gone down hill and no one seems to be taking responsibility for up keep. read more

I'm so disappointed with Cresthaven. My grandfather passed away last week and he had pre-paid his funeral through them. We didn't think anything about it as when my grandma passed away, we also did everything through them and they were great. Well now they aren't great. Let us begin with the fact that when my grandma died they did the programs, prayer cards, and obituaries for you. Now, they still do obituaries but if you would like it to read correctly, just do it yourself as when my step-uncle passed away about a month and a half ago they told them twice it was wrong and it was still printed incorrectly. My grandfather's viewing was on Sunday night. When we were leaving after the viewing we were told that they would be at the church with my grandfather's body by 9am and that they would be bringing the flowers and the register for people to sign in that came to the funeral. We informed the guy that it worked out perfect and that the family would be there at 9:30am. When we arrived at the church, my grandfather's body was no where to be found. Cresthaven didn't arrive at the church until five minutes before the mass was to begin. They told my mom it was because they got lost but it is like a 5 minute drive and they even admitted they had been to the church and were from the area. Mitchell is a small town, there is no way you can be that lost getting some where. My family was robbed of being able to say their last goodbyes to my grandfather due to them arriving so late. Not only that, but the flowers and everything else never got to be set up in the church. When we were done with the mass and were getting ready to go to the cemetery for the graveside they didn't line the cars up or give us flags to put on the car to identify that we were part of a funeral procession. After the graveside ceremony was finished a guy that worked for the funeral home approached my mom and told her that he had left some pens in the register box and he would like them back at her "earliest convenience." After we located everything, come to find out these pens were free pens from other businesses! My mom went in to pay for the engraving of my grandfather's headstone today to find out that they had charged her $40 extra dollars for a DVD for having over 50 pictures. She was never informed that there was a maximum amount of pictures or told what the fee would be per extra picture. My mom only had 19 extra pictures! Whatever you do, save yourself from extra stress and grief and don't use Cresthaven Funeral Home. Funeral homes are supposed to make things easier on the family in their time of grief but Cresthaven only has caused my mom more grief in already a stressful and sad time. read more

We had our Mothers funeral there a couple of years ago. The family had everything taken care of including payment. We picked a beautiful casket and outfit. When we went in for the viewing we had never been so disappointed. The only way we knew for sure it was our Mother was by looking at Her hands. Her makeup looked like a mask was on her. Her body was horribly disfigured. The casket we "picked out and bought" was replaced by a casket fit for a man. The owner did nothing about it and will not give us our money from what was left over from the insurance. He won't even respond to the attorney. I think everyone needs to think twice about this company. And to think he ran for a political office a year or so ago. My rating is a minus ten read more
