Great find at Anna Bay. Had the tasting plate for 2 and the chips with rosemary salt. Good value, friendly staff. Will definitely come back!

Incredible food and super nice, accommodating and understanding staff. Tru Blu Mediterranean is a…read moremust-try restaurant if you're looking for a place to eat. Between my family and I we ordered the hummus and lamb, croquettes and lamb spring rolls for appetisers. For mains we enjoyed the pork belly, the duck leg, ocean trout, the lamb special and the octopus, as well as sides of polenta chips and broccolini. Finally, we finished off the meal with the flourless chocolate cake, the sticky fig pudding, the creme brûlée and the affogato. Every single meal we indulged in was extremely full filling and delicious as could be! The staff were more than happy to alter meals for my grandmas who can't handle chilli and our waitress seemed very happy and friendly. We will definitely be recommending Tru Blu to friends and definitely will be coming back for more!

Mum's 85th. EIGHTY FIVE!!! We loved Starfish in Avalon but…read moreit closed after many years and we lost our favourite place. So I was really happy to learn the Starfish chef had opened up a new place. But the Asian influence that was Starfish's signature has been replaced with Mediterranean. Thats a bit odd I thought to myself. And the name, I mean Tru Blu? Is it me and you? Is it a Cockatoo? Anyway when the old girl turned 85, sheesh, 85! we went to check it out. First thing, the lunch menu is not the dinner menu. I had looked on line and saw some great dishes but the lunch menu is more limited. I chose a Fraser Island crab omelette because I am not an idiot. Who wouldn't order a crab omelette? Winner. You really taste the crab and there's plenty of it. Very very good. Keeno had the scallops. Of course she did, thats like saying the sun came up, or that Donald Trump is a meathead. Mum also had the scallops and loved them but note its a small meal. So much so that my chippies disappeared very quickly. Margie and Zoe had Mirror Dory, a daily special and declared it good. The dips and the shared bits and pieces were the highlight. Sensational. The room is nice, although its an odd place to plop down a restaurant, and a far cry from Avalon, but its handy if you need to go to Bunnings afterwards which I did. I will definitely go back for dinner cos this bloke can really cook and I have my heart set on a tagine. Which won't be good for my heart but I bet it will be good for my soul. The service is fantastic, really friendly and happy. I still miss the Bugs that I used to get at Starfish, but therapy is helping.
