Wild leap is a short walk from the Marriott, with plenty of sight seeing along the way. There is a food truck parked out back and we were able to order burgers, tenders, and fries. There weren't many other options on the menu, and I don't see anything for anyone who might be vegan or have other food specifications, but that doesn't mean it wasn't an option. The staff is incredibly nice! I ordered the tenders and fry combo and got 3 sauces (I had to pay for the third). On a previous visit we stayed at one of the cabins that was on property and had so much fun we researched what was available now. To our surprise, there is now a lodge and spa on property near the cabins that we previously visited. It is a beautiful large 4-story structure with a large foyer, wood beams, large windows and a lake view out the back of the hotel. There is a two-sided fireplace as you enter with a cafe on one side and check-in on the other. Check-in was easy and pleasant. The staff was friendly. Most rooms are to the right as you enter. One of the 2 elevators was broken on our visit. Our room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the lake, a small kitchenette area with a small refrigerator and a microwave. The Lodge is convenient for getting to the park due to its location. The price was definitely more than other hotels in the local area but I think it is worth it for location in/near the gardens.

Ample parking, and on a Chilly Friday night it wasn't too crowded. They had quality skates to rent, and were more than happy to exchange sizes a few times to get the right fit. The ice was nice, and even better after the zambonie had its turn. The folks working were wonderful, and very helpful. The price was the same for adults and kids at $12 each. About the same as a movie I suppose. They had little fires and chairs for those not skating, as well as heat lamps, and a walled tent to be extra toasty for special needs/diaper changes or just a place to sit at a table. Their concession stand was fine, but I didn't buy anything. I'm too cheap to pay $3.75 for a hot cocoa, though it did look yummy with a heaping pile of whipped cream. The background music was 70's, and I rather surprised myself on how many lyrics I actually knew. We shall return next year! What a treat!
