Nougatine is a type of chocolate made with crushed and caramelized hazelnuts coated with dark chocolate. I learned later that Nougatine made this chain famous in Italy. As it is a chocolate flavor, I decided to pair it with Venchi custard. I absolutely loved both of the flavors and the combination. I highly recommend them. Recommendation In the past 5 years or so, I visited various places in Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice, the Amalfi coast, and Tuscany countryside. As a non-gelato person, no matter where I go in Italy, I seek out good gelateria to see what the hype is all about. I'm confident to say gelato from Venchi was one of the best I've ever had. Don't dismiss Venchi just because it's a chain. I highly recommend that you give them a try. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because I got a really bad stomach ache afterwards for some reason after I had the gelato.
