I had another several weeks of physical therapy at the hospital , which was set up for me following the surgery. Physical therapy went well but I was informed I was done before I could even put my full weight on or bend my leg all the way. I wondered what to expect as far as what I'd be able to do now. At first it was literally hard to put one foot in front of the other or walk without limping. I knew my left side was weaker and had over compensated on the right side for a long time. Over the next 5 years I started and stopped many workout routines due to not being able to correctly do the things I used to or be able to do them without pain-I even worked out with a trainer at a gym but the exercises they had me doing weren't working for me after my injury. I wasn't able to jog without pain so I walked for my exercise and that wasn't even the same. I couldn't go as far or walk as long without eventually feeling pain. I wondered if this was what I should expect. I know no one could know for sure what I could do, but I didn't know how to begin exercising or doing simple physical things after the injury I had. I learned about Back to Life and wondered if I could benefit, it was over six months before I scheduled an appointment and I'm so glad I finally did. My therapist, Amberly, came to my house assessed my situation and evaluated my strength on both sides and set up a routine for me starting with small movement exercises to strengthen the muscles I needed to first. In a few months I was able to do basic body weight exercises without compensating. I can even jog on the treadmill and do small sprints again. I still have small setbacks but she is able to explain and help treat some of the aches and pains that come up and I feel like I keep moving forward now. We meet about every 5 weeks and communication is open by emailing or texting back and forth. Back to Life is flexible and my therapist has helped me feel more confident with myself moving and helps me understand what kind of pain I might be feeling at times. I am so happy I found this avenue of personal training/therapy because my health and wellness have improved over the last 9 months and I plan to keep it up as long as I need to. Amber Sellers

My 6 year old son attended this center for 9 weeks. Our weekly rate was $360.00. (40 hours per…read moreweek for $9 per hour). Although my son does not have any medical needs, he does have developmental and communication delays. We raised several issues during his short time here, including: Daily sheets were sporadic, depending on if the staff filled them out that day. After many requests and emails to management, we started receiving these regularly and noticed the following issues. My son wasn't fed breakfast. The staff did not realize he needed to eat, even though he was there during breakfast and I said on his first day he will need a breakfast every day. My son had 2-3 restroom breaks during an 8 hour period. At home, he will stay dry all day because I take him to the restroom, but he was going through pull ups all day long while he was at this center. At times, he was there over 3 hours before taken to the restroom. We did not have any experience with the nursing staff, except they did clean and treat the bite wound my son received. After several emails with a variety of concerns, I arrived to pick up my son one day and was asked to wait because one of the nurses wanted to talk to me? It wasn't a nurse, but the assistant site director. She explained she believed my son was receiving these services, but the staff just forgot to write it down. Really? No, that's not what happened. When I raised these issues to the staff, I was told they didn't realize that he needed to eat. And I can see he wasn't taken to the bathroom in 3 hours and they are just changing the pull up. In fact, when I arrived, the staff did not know who you are. They thought you were a nurse. There are major communication and training issues here and problems following their own policies, which made me extremely worried considering they specialize in kids with special needs.

There are so many things we enjoyed about our time there. The CDC has its own separate, secured entrance. The friendly office staff greets you and your child before letting you in through another secured door. The classrooms are large, inviting, and clean. The facility also has a child-friendly cafeteria, gymnasium, and giant outdoor play area with playground equipment, age-appropriate toys, and a seasonal garden. The part I loved most about St. Luke's were the learning experiences my child had in each of her classrooms. When my child started, as a post-Covid baby, she was not used to being around peers or following school routines. She also had a speech delay. The teachers at St. Luke's created a warm, inclusive, and positive learning environment that allowed her to be herself and grow. They were open and willing to work with her speech therapist and frequently communicated outcomes with me. Their daily schedule included a healthy amount of age-appropriate learning balanced with play allowing her to develop academic skills and make friends. The icing on the cake were the musical, art, and sports opportunities she was able to participate in. I'm happy to report that my child no longer has a speech delay and is more than ready to start school in the fall. I highly recommend St. Luke's to anyone looking for a great place to support and develop your whole child and set them up for success in kindergarten.

While the daycare is located within the church, it has a separate entrance. It's a large facility complete with cafeteria, gymnasium and a fantastic outdoor play area that has playground equipment and garden. All of the staff and teachers are fantastic. We found everyone to be friendly, attentive, communicative, and understanding. In each of the two classrooms my son was in he had a wonderful experience. The environment was such that he could be himself. They also do a great job of scheduling activities which allow the children to learn thru lessons as well as thru play. I'll also add that they handled the pandemic very well. They communicated the changes, reduced class sizes, required staff and parents to wear masks and provided sanitizer. I recommend anyone looking for a great daycare to consider St. Luke.
