I've been seeing Dr. Reznik for the past 6 or 7 years. I have bad knees from years of aggressive…read moresports and advancing years. He has repaired a torn MCL once and torn menisci three times. After each operation, I went through physical therapy -- not the PT affiliated with the practice, but one closer to my home -- and I recovered to the point where I resumed playing racquetball and walking 10 - 12 miles each week within the time frame he had projected. Three years ago, I ruptured the Achilles tendon in my right leg. Dr. Reznik repaired that, too, and after PT, I again resumed my crazy schedule with competitive racquetball and fitness walking. I'm playing in a regional USA Racquetball tournament in MA this weekend, and when I walk, I use hand weights within tight time frames so I really press my knees. I've found that each time I've seen Dr. Reznik, he's taken the time to listen to what happened, how I feel, and the impact the injury has had on my activities. He also shares all the images with me and explains what he's seeing and why he's suggesting one course of treatment over another. Frankly, I was impressed one time that he suggested I NOT have surgery to see how the torn meniscus would feel after use and try to manage it with exercise and PT. It worked for some months, but I did eventually have surgery after I injured it again. I've found that he accurately described the recovery as well as the level of functionality and even discomfort I'd feel after various procedures. To sum it up, I'd highly recommend anyone with knee pain or lower leg injuries to seek out Dr. Reznik.

I had an in person appointment. They were flexible when I called to say I'd be a bit late. He did not rush through the visit and was so easy to talk to. Very frank. My daughter had a complicated surgery with him last year and it has been a huge success.

I told Dr Halsey I had hip pain. she X-ray'd my knee and said it was fine. She was patronizing…read more later Dr Marano looked at the x-rays and and an MRI of my hip and said I had a stress fracture and should go to the Emergency Room at once. I went to Lenox Hill next day because it was part of the Northwell Group so I thought they could access the X-rays . They can't so took new X-rays. Sat in ER in robe for 4 hrs awaiting surgery. Orthopedists at Lenox said they saw no fracture and they would not admit me. went back to Dr Marano to question the fracture diagnosis. He said he errs on the side of caution and it is an imprecise area. I then went to an orthopedist at HSS who also said no fracture and diagnosed Bursitis. Getting a second opinion tomorrow back at NY Orthopedists. Conclusion: Serious doubts about competency at Oler and Cohen, Southampton.

I went to Orlin and Cohen earlier this year for a foot fracture, the doctor said I did not need…read moresurgery and treated my broken foot with a boot and follow up fracture care. I was surprised when I received my first bill to learn that it could not be processed as a copay visit and that I was responsible for the entire amount billed to my insurance. My insurance explained that this was because Orlin and Cohen sent them the claim using a surgical code instead of a fracture care code which changes my coverage to having had surgery which requires me to meet my deductible first. They said that unless they changed the code to a fracture care code it could only be processed through my deductible due to the primary surgery billing code they used. I explained that I did not have any surgery but they said according to Orlin and Cohen I did, and that they are the only ones that can change the code to a fracture care code and resend the claim to my insurance to have it adjusted. I thought ok I'll just call Orlin and Cohen and have this simple coding error corrected, easy peasy right. Wrong! I have spent countless hours and have been going in circles for several months with Orlin and Cohen trying to speak with someone, anyone, to have them change the code to reflect that I did not have surgery but there is no one at Orlin and Cohen's billing department that has been able to make this right. Dealing with their billing representatives has been frustrating beyond words with me chasing my tail and getting no where, no one returns my calls or cares to address my concerns or they say that this needs to go to a different billing office that I cannot contact directly but that they will have someone call me, and no one ever calls me. No one wants to assume any responsibility for how billing codes are sent to insurance. I also called Jeremy in customer relations for help with this matter and he said he would speak to someone and assured me that he would call me back shortly, he never called back either. It's been several months and I still have been unable to be in contact with anyone that can help me right this wrong and I still do not understand who is in charge of billing???
