It was by luck or divine intervention that I was told about Dr Minor. He helped my Frenchie, Bentley, through a long, frustrating journey. THIS CLINIC IS NOT BIG DOG FRIENDLY!! Don't let them fool you with the pictures on their website and Facebook pages- they didn't even go into the treatment room to see their patient to treat the injury that he had just because he barked in the waiting room, 1 time. As one of the owners of one of the puppies that you have recently vaccinated, I am writing to tell you my feelings about how you treated the owner of the parents of my puppy. He was quoted not once BUT TWICE a price to vaccinate the entire litter. However, at the time of the appointment, those quotes were not honored. From a customer service point of view, they should have been honored because they had been quoted the same twice. Yet you charged him double plus $20.00. He then brought in one of his other pets in to get seen for an injury from an allergy. How in the WORLD can you prescribe medication when you haven't physically looked at the injury to know what type of medication is needed? If your staff is afraid of big dogs then they should not be employed there at all. Just because a dog bark does not mean that the dog is aggressive. To have the vet not even open the door and visit his/her said patient is absurd and the vet should not have a veterinary practice at all. Much less you want to sedate him without even seeing him? I am 100000% appalled by your clinic and your practice's behavior. You should be refunding him all of his money at this point. You sent him a letter terminating him from being a client - really this is how you are going to treat a client? For voicing his opinion? WOW, Shame on YOU. We had to spend a lot of time there the past few weeks after our puppy broke its leg and he provided the absolute best care with what we comfortable going forward with. Having Dr. Minor in our area to care for our pets is really a breathe of fresh air. My bulldog was exhibiting sickness and I took her to Atascadero pet hospital because they were the only ones open on the weekend. I checked in at 10:30am for a drop off that I was told I could do . Upon arrival they told me I couldn't drop off and that I had to stay in the parking lot and could not leave and they wouldn't be able to even see my dog until 6:30pm . Ridiculous. I understand emergencies and being busy , but they can at least give me a call when the time is getting closer. Although I am happy that didn't work out because my animals have been missed diagnosed multiple times there in the past. I was able to do a drop off with Dr. Minor and he called me a few hours later with a diagnosis that made sense which is Valley fever .. and started treatment. Horrible customer service. Scheduled my appt 2 weeks in advance, they even made me pay for it up front. Showed up the day of my appt, which when I Scheduled, I took off of work early, only to find my appt had been moved to the next day and or incorrectly Scheduled to begin with. The gal was rude and argumentative. As a 1st time customer, I would have figured they would have been a lot more accommodating to earn my business. I would not bring my $.25 goldfish here. Dr. Minor and the staff are exceptional. Service is prompt and courteous and on a few occasions Dr. Minor has met me at the clinic on a Sunday to take care of a sick animal. To be honest, I haven't heard of any other vets who will go out of their way to make sure that your pet is well cared for. I have referred anybody who wants an excellent vet to him without hesitation. Dr. Minor is an excellent surgeon and has performed operations on my dogs when necessary, and I have always been so happy to know that my dogs are well cared for. We started bringing our animals here almost as soon as they opened because we've been unhappy with our previous vet for a while. Dr Minor is attentive, and doesn't make you feel rushed. Thanks to covid, you're not allowed in the building. They take the animal in, do an examination, then the Dr Minor comes out to talk to you. Their pricing is very reasonable, and you don't leave feeling like you've been gouged or taken advantage of. My only complaint (and reason for 1 star deduction) is that they are a victim of their own success. I used to be able to get an appt next day, now they're booking 2-3 weeks out, which is fine for some things, but IMO, that's too long to wait for many health issues. I've been able to plead my case for a sooner visit, but it's an uncomfortable feeling having to plead my case to get my pet seen in a reasonable time. That doesn't feel scalable. I hope they figure out a good way to scale their business, without compromising what makes them successful in the first place! Thanks guys! read more

We brought our French Bulldog in for a second opinion and they were very accommodating, getting records from other vets, and taking their time to really try and understand what was happening and make their own diagnosis. They did a great job of caring for our dog and explaining what they thought was happening and why. They showed genuine care and professionalism. He became very lethargic, I called at 11, they said I could bring him in as a drop off. Picked him up at 4 when they called. They truly care, then today he had his regular checkup. I followed Dr. Minor from the last clinic he worked at and I am SO happy he has his own veterinary hospital now. He is a kind animal lover and his sincerity comes across to anyone that meets him. He will not be pushy and run up your vet bill, and is conservative in his approach and will be honest about what you really need and what is optional. He is SMART! Now here is the thing, a lot of veterinarians don't continue on and seek out the newest treatments or protocols. Dr. Minor stays on top of all current and new studies, he attends conferences to learn more and to increase his knowledge. I run a non profit dog rescue and we have had many many dogs with chronic ear problems (cocker spaniels). Because Dr. Minor had sought out additional education and attended a conference given by a veterinary dermatologist, he was able to come up with a new protocol to help some of our most severe dogs avoid ear ablation surgery. I don't believe any other general vet has ever suggested this protocol. Dr. Minor also has an interest in surgery and his surgical skills are advanced. No matter where you live in SLO county, it is totally worth the drive and effort to take your pets to see Dr. Minor. Even more so if you are faced with a complicated situation or a surgical situation that requires someone that stays up to date on the most modern methods. After calling all my typical vets in the central coast to get my litters tails docked which is time sensitive these guys new how important it was and got me in within the needed time frame while others did not. Not to say I don't like my other two vets as I do, but I have a new found appreciation here for this vet as well. Brian and his team have such positive attitudes, and they are also very knowledgeable. For instance when I called asking for tail docking they didn't say let me see what we have available in the future they instead said let's see how we can pull off getting you in within 5 days as that's what's needed rather than just looking for open spots not understanding the significance and timing of the procedure. Very very impressed with the level of customer service here. We need more just like this in the central coast as everyone seems to be overloaded and tied up with either not enough resources for the demand or even just being bought out and all the changes that come with that. I took my French bulldog to Creekside Veterinary to discuss having elongated soft palate surgery. This office came highly recommended to me by another French bulldog owner and the reviews that I read online were all very positive. When I made the appointment, I was asked to prepay the office visit since I was a new client. While waiting in the reception area a girl came out to us and unclipped my dog's leash from his harness and put a slip collar over my dog's neck and began pulling him across the room. My husband quickly picked him up. She took our dog from my husband and told us to wait in the reception area. While waiting I could hear a dog crying from the back, having no experience with this office before and not feeling good about my dog having a slip collar around his neck when he has a condition that causes airway obstruction, I expressed my concern with one of the girls at the front, she had very little compassion and told me they always do the exams in the back and then the Doctor comes and talks to you in the reception area (which FYI has a lot of other people in it). I waited a little longer but as the crying in the back continued I asked for them to bring my dog back out to me, he appeared very anxious and after taking him outside he threw up twice. I decided not to wait for the vet to come out and talk to me. This office has a very "one size fits all" approach which may work for some but not for everyone. I would never feel comfortable leaving my dog here, my only regret is that I didn't speak up for my dog sooner. read more

Dr. Minor has been AMAZING! Our fur child has had a bad past and is very anxious at the vet as we suspect it reminds him of the pound he lived in for almost a year. Additionally, he isn't comfortable around other dogs and can become dog aggressive if he feels threatened in any way. However, Dr.Minor and his office always work with us to ensure no dog run ins occur when we are there and that he is as comfortable as possible. He and his staff are so understanding of our special guy and also his very over protective mother (myself) who probably brings him in for far too much. read more

My sweet little kitty needed to be spayed and chipped before December, which was the earliest possible appointment with woods humane society. The amazing staff at creekside got us in quickly and my kitty was spayed in November. Her procedure went smoothly, she was treated like a princess, and she healed perfectly with no issues whatsoever. My experience at Creekside was phenomenal. Dr. M and the staff are excellent. They squeezed my corgi in for an emergency visit after she lacerated her eyelid. During my 10 min wait I overheard Dr. M talking with another person about their dog. He was so kind and took the time to explain what was going on and listen to their concerns. Dr Minor performed surgery for three of my dogs. One French bulldog : soft pállate and nare surgery, she's 3 months out and she doesn't snore anymore and is able to go for walks without getting short of breath, she's much more playful. She was also spayed. Another French bulldog had cherry eye in both eyes, she had corrective surgery and is doing great( also 3 months out). And my Yorkie was spayed; she literally acted like nothing had been done. All dogs scars are now almost invisible. The staff was kind, helpful and easy to work with. . Dr Minor spends a lot of time with each owner going over everything in detail post surgery: it's clear he values the owners, the pets, and is attentive and respectful. I drove 2.5 hours to have Dr Minor perform the surgery and it was worth it. Dr Minor reminds me of what you would imagine a country Vet would be like, one that loves what he does and does the work out with the utmost care. The prices are very reasonable. I took my French bulldog for a post surgery follow up and was charged $0 . Many vets Nicole and dime you, charging extra for IV fluids or pain meds, or for keeping them an extra day. Creekside does everything to make your pet comfortable and it's included in the quoted price. I can't say enough good things about my experience. read more

I am very happy to have a Veterinarian that understands and has become a specialist in the area for Reproduction. He has collected and shipped semen. His office is very accommodating to the timing of collections and taking care of all the shipping. They communicated well with the other vet office to ensure timing and prep was done as asked. Glad I looked around and found Dr. minor and his cozy veterinary office. Before visiting, I was discouraged by another well known vet clinic in the area due to poor communication. However, when I spoke with receptionist/vet technicians over the phone, I was really impressed with their knowledge and clear communication. When I met Dr. Minor, he was knowledgeable, caring and personable and most importantly, had common sense of medicine practice. He didn't push for any tests or procedures unless absolutely necessary. I'm a Lompoc Resident and a good friend of mine breeds Frenchie's and English Bulldogs in Lompoc and he highly recommended Dr. Minor (Creekside Vet) for any surgical procedure. So we booked an appointment for my English Bulldog for a consultation on the removal of his cherry eye (Very common for Bulldogs). When we arrived, 5 people were already waiting and I noticed the quality of breeds that were there: 2 frenchies, 1 english bulldog, 1 white haired golden retriever, an indication for me that this place is topnotch, which it was! Dr. Minor explained the procedure in specific details, very thorough and a relaxing demeanor. Our first impression of him was this doctor is "Awesome", he made us feel at ease about the surgery, the feeling where you can sleep better at night! The place was luxurious compare to other places, clean and modern model of the building, kinda like a mini 5 star hotel for my furry friends! And the best part is, is the cost of the surgery! a lot cheaper than the other 4 other places I got quotes from.
