Creekside Park in the Civita Development, is a planned urban development suburb area of Mission Valley in San Diego, has a gated/fenced off leash dog park. Evidently, this park had opened over a year ago but I just discovered it while on a walk with my pup.
There is no specific address posted here or on the municipal website and when I called San Diego city for info, all the staff were uninformed and had no additional info :(
The park is about 1.3 acres of elevated walkways, to yield to a possibility of a creek during rainfall overflow, landscaping using reclaimed water for conservation, a jungle gym that resembles an atom particle and a gated off leash dog park open from dusk to dawn.
Upon reading the rules posted and observing the dogs, I noticed All dogs of All sizes were in the same space and not segregated :( It's a smallish dog park with faux grass. As an over protective parent, I was reluctant to allow my pup to enter the gated dog park, which was also unmonitored. However, all the dogs present seem to get along playfully, with their owners looking on. One smallish dog, did come towards me and my pup Fendi and greeted us, but Fendi wasn't feeling too social due to the warmer than usual weather this week.
Mission Valley is surrounded by apartments condos and townhouses, nice and clean but
almost too cookie cutter looking. This park is between two apartment complexes that overlook the park, so there's not much privacy. The landscaped garden with trees and shrubs offers a nice green visual during your 5 minute leisure walk and is still a worthwhile visit. read more
