Firstly, this business is a drafting business. I don't feel that I had any dealings with an architect. I was planning an outdoor patio extension to my home. They claimed that using google earth a reasonable design could be simulated. I paid the project price and had the work done. The final product was unusable and took nothing into account with respect to the terrain topography or current structures. This was a waste of our time and my money. We hired Creekside Designs to redesign the facade and garage-side of a house we were building after our home burned down. We purchased blueprints from a third party and although we loved the interior layout in the plan, the exterior wasn't quite to our liking. This led us to search for a design firm for assistance. The list of deliverables Creekside Designs promised was well thought-out, thorough, and impressive. The owner, Jimmy Parker, he did a very capable job of anticipating my needs as a first time semi-custom home-builder. The initial conversation with Jimmy Parker left me with a sense of enthusiasm we finally found the right design firm. I was dead wrong. Creekside Designs refused to respond to any questions about the status/progress on the project after receiving my initial deposit. Zip. Zero. Zilch. We agreed the first round of designs would be delivered 5-7 days later. After that deadline passed, I did everything I could to motivate them to reply so I knew where we stood. Didn't work. Weeks passed. I got a whole lot of Nothing. Ironically, Creekside Designs escalated the PayPal dispute process. The irony is they HAD BEEN PAID and failed to deliver *anything* that was promised (including the courtesy of a reply to inquiries about progress). In their "dispute" Creekside Designs made multiple false claims - all of which were easily proved as lies and deemed as such by PayPal - in their response to my allegation they accepted my money and failed to deliver the services promised. They fabricated conversations which never took place, explanations that were never provided, acceptance of hourly rates/fees to pay them for partially completed work, agreements to extend the deadline, etc. There was absolutely NO email or phone records supporting their outrageous claims. The conversations referred to weren't present on a cell bill, no email trail, nothing to support the litany of lies they offered PayPal. It took PayPal very little time to discover this was a fraudulent transaction and refund my money. BOTTOM LINE: Be very careful if you make the mistake of conducting business with Creekside Designs and/or Jimmy Parker. They may do amazing work (I'll never know since I never received any design work from them). Perhaps more bothersome than not receiving the work I paid for was how Jimmy handled the situation. Not answering the phone and failing to return calls or emails that he then escalated to fabricating stories about alleged conversations and agreements as he tried to convince PayPal he hadn't broken our agreement - which he had (and PayPal affirmed). [NOTE: I am NOT surprised Jimmy Parker claimed to not know the other reviewer and was dismissive of the feedback. Had to come back here to update this review and reduce my rating from 5 to 1 star First they disappeared mid project on two house plans...radio silence. I had to go hire a new design firm to finish. Second we're in construction on two other plans that they drafted for us. It's been a construction nightmare. All dimensions are off and nothing lines up. Their plans have made my engineers, thank god I hired a engineer, and framers jobs very difficult. No attention to detail! While they provide a very cheap service, you get what you pay for. read more

Jimmy Parker is a basic drafter. He has only an associates degree from Wallace State Community College. He may claim to have a construction licence but the test was taken while he was employed by Cahaba Maintenance and Construction and the "good ole boys" that worked there need an extra crew chief to help out the work load and gave Jimmy all the answers to take the exam. The crew at Cahaba Maintenance and construction also forged his documents saying he had taken and worked all the require hours under a licence contractor. This was only done because they needed extra hands with work coming in and never thought he would build anything, much less start promoting himself as an actual architect. Jimmy is simply a drafter, and basic at that, his wife Christy worked as a paramedic prior to being married to Jimmy. read more

It is unfortunate at least 1 star needs to be selected since this company cost us money, a negative rating would be more appropriate. Creekside Designs run by Jimmy Parker and Christy Parker at 427 2nd Ave SW, Cullman, AL 35055 ((256) 735-6586) is not a company I would ever consider hiring again. After finding Creekside Designs on my LOCAL craigslist we hired them to design and do the permit drawings for our HVAC system. Not only is Jimmy Parker and Christy Parker (nor anyone at Creekside Designs) NOT engineers, they are also not local to me in Florida. This design company operates a very shady business. Their business practices are manipulative and deceitful. Please consider any other real design firm over this company. read more

Creekside Designs does excellent work. I have had their team work on design plans for permits on several occasions for both minor and major revisions. They are communicative and thorough. I started working with Jimmy back in June 2016. The project got off to a great start. He took care of everything in a very timely manner, life was good. As we got further along in the project, it became very difficult to get in touch with Jimmy. I left multiple voice mails and sent emails without a return response. After about 3 weeks of trying to contact him, Shelia contacted me to apologize and say this is not normal practice for Creekside. I felt reassured by that email and gave them another chance. Another week went by with no contact or any updated drawings. Shelia reached out to me again for the second time. She asked me to resend everything I needed and they would take care of it as promised. That was last tuesday, 8/30 and I have yet to hear back from them. I called and left several more messages and emails hoping to get some answers. I even gave them an out and said if they can't complete the project just let me know and I will find someone else to take care of it. Again, they don't even have the common courtesy to send me a reply email or return phone call. Being a business owner myself, I can't even begin to imagine how someone can treat their clients this way. My clients keep me in business and now I have to mend my business relationship with my client over this embarrassing performance by Creekside. At this point I have paid 85% of the initial estimates and have nothing finalized to show for it. Jimmy, you should be ashamed of yourself for taking my money and not completing the project as you promised. Folks, consider yourself warned, I would not recommend doing business with them as they will burn you too! read more

My experience with Creekside Designs in Cullman, Alabama is as follows: They came out to discuss designing a carport and deck addition to my home. At the site, they never pulled out a tape measure, instead insisting that they could get the measurements from Google Maps. Once plans were completed, Creekside would not deliver the plans until AFTER they received full payment for the design. When I had a contractor come out to start the project, based on the Creekside's plans, it was determined that the plans were incomplete. The project could not be started without major revisions to the Creekside plans; for example: (a) plans were incomplete for decking placement and composition, (b) railings/halfwalls missing (c) structural features were missing tying the steel joists to the ledgers and posts (d) it would encroach the required County building setback requirements by 3 feet. Numerous calls with the secretary, voicemails, emails and text messages and messages on Facebook have resulted in no response/resolution by Creekside Designs involving the problems with their design plans. read more
