Their laundry facilities are also clean. The park is right on a stop for the deadwood trolley. We were in a tent and stayed on the berm. There was a pleasant stream behind us. The bathroom was just a quick walk away. The people there were so nice too. They have a museum on property and the stagecoach and horses that run through Deadwood originate here at the campground so you can see them before and after. This was our first time to South Dakota but we will definitely be back and when we come back we will be staying here.

Communicative, helpful and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves is what this place is all about.... Also, this location is perfect to enjoy the rally (or whatever event is happening) in either Deadwood or Sturgis but not you're be stuck in the chaos. It's nice and quiet. We've met some great friends camping here though. People walking their dogs or just taking a stroll will stop by if you give them a smile, and I really like that. Reason being staff was out cleaning the sites. We unhooked our tow vehicle and drove around to see how many staff were working. Absolutely zero. (In the 20+ years of rving we have never been told we had to pay for checking in less than 1/2 hr early) I then went into the office sat waiting for 1:00 to arrive. While the lady was on the phone talking to someone asking if I received the email with the rules saying chec-pk-in was 1:00 , her small daughter that walking around took the brochure out of my hand and walked away. At 1:00 I walked up to the counter and the lady proceeded to tell me I was rude and there was no need to yell. I told her if she thought I was yelling she'd never heard yelling. She then told me if I left a negative review she guaranteed me she would be replying. I'm not sure if she was saying that so I wouldn't leave a review but after her being one of rudest if not the rudest office manager we've met I definitely was leaving one.

Instead, they said we would have to text or call the driver. (He is busy driving.........!) So needless to say, we drove and as we were driving down the KOA driveway,leaving to go to Deadwood, we had to move out of the way for the &;&;)@$ trolley that was driving up. Would have been nice if the front desk would have made it their business to find out trolley info. One more thing: The two donkeys running loose made all the dogs go nuts.

The surroundings, setting, vibe, atmosphere, a true mountain campground & resort with over friendly owners, staff (always here to help!) and tenants! Good food, clean bathrooms, nice laundry rooms, beautiful tent sites, a river runs through the campground. There is also a heated swimming pool. This place is quiet at night so you can enjoy your rides during the day. You can just stop by to fish a trout an they'll prepare it for you. Nice crispy trout with a cold one, exactly what I need during my vacations. Best value for money accommodation during the Sturgis rally. There are also cabins for rent on site. I'll go there again...soon! (make sure you book like 10 months in advance...)
