The toys, video game consoles, and movie in the waiting room are definitely a huge part of the appeal for the kids. That said, it's really starting to feel run-down and unloved. The video game consoles are always broken or offline, the movies are too quiet to hear, and those toys have dwindled. The reception desk staff seems harried and doesn't have time to make sure the kids are excited to be there. The radio in the lobby is much louder than the movie, and the seating in the waiting room is downright gross to sit on- it's filthy. Where it used to feel clean and cared for and welcoming, now it feels shabby and broken, and that almost subliminal feeling of it not being cared for starts to translate into it feeling like a place that is uncomfortable. I do know that my kids still don't mind going to the dentist and they get good, solid care from a dentist who is well-regarded by the profession in this region. That is hugely important. But we also carefully seek out pediatric dentists that make our feel children comfortable and safe, so they don't take a fear of going to the dentist into adulthood with them. I hope that they give their physical space and waiting room some TLC so it can continue to welcome kids and help them have healthy attitudes toward their dental health.

He literally laughed in my face and told me that he never prescribed pain medication even for bone surgery. I explained I have a low tolerance for pain and needed to go back to work. He laughed in my face again and told me to take an over the counter Tylenol. I ended up missing 2 weeks of work or around $2000.00 All because he took my pain as a Joke. Please if you need something serious don't go here.

Absolutely horrible! My husband came for a cleaning. We asked if they were in network with our…read moreinsurance plan, they assured us that they were. After receiving his cleaning, we received a bill for over $400. I called and spoke with Jennifer (after multiple attempts to get in touch with anyone) and she said she didn't know who would say they were in network with our insurance, because they only work with 1 insurance company. She told me that she would re-bill our insurance to see if there would be any coverage. After insurance was billed again, I received a statement (over a year after the appointment) saying that we owed $193 and that the remaining portion of $224 was covered. This was in May of 2024. I paid the $193 immediately and thought I was done with it. I received a bill one week before Christmas saying that I now owed the remaining $224. I called the office immediately and Jennifer said not to worry about it and to enjoy my holiday, she would look into it. January rolled around and I never heard back, but I received a letter from a collection agency saying that that we owed $298. I called to speak to Jennifer and left multiple messages. Finally I asked to speak to someone higher up and spoke directly with the Dr. he informed me that this would be cleared up and we would look into it and get it figured out. Less than a day later and called me back and said that I had to pay collections and that the company was charging me a fee. I spoke with a collections agent and they told me that the dental office adds their own fee of 33% to all of their invoices that they send over, just for their pocket. She also told me that my invoice was sent their in October. I did not even receive and invoice until December and called immediately. I have never had a bill sent to collections. Ever. Completely shady business practice to ignore a customer and send an invoice to collections when being told the account was paid. Keep a close eye on your account, you will be sent random bills years after your appointments

I am writing to formally document my disappointment and concern regarding the treatment I received…read moreat my most recent scheduled appointment. Let me start by saying Dr. Patel is truly amazing. Renee at the front desk is also amazing as well! However, in the past year or so, something has changed and now it's about the money and NOT the service. Let me explain: I am a long-term patient of Dr. Patel and I had a confirmed appointment for a routine checkup and cleaning in the Palos Heights office, both of which are fully covered under my insurance plan. However, upon arrival, I was denied care and turned away due to an outstanding balance on my account. That balance has already been submitted to my insurance company as part of a pending appeal and, therefore, should not have prevented me from receiving services that are otherwise covered in full. Plus, I'm a long term client and have always paid my invoice on time. Denying a patient preventive care under these circumstances is, in my view, both unprofessional and unacceptable. Preventive appointments such as cleanings and checkups are critical to ongoing oral health, and there is no justification for refusing treatment that carries no financial risk to either myself or their office. As a result of this experience, I will not be returning to your practice. Moreover, I had previously referred both my daughter and my brother to your office, but given the way my case was handled, I can no longer recommend your services. I have also spoke with other people who had the same experience with being denied service. I hope their office carefully reviews this matter and reconsiders its policies to ensure that other patients are not denied appropriate care in similar circumstances. I'm worried now if I (or anyone with an outstanding balance) had an emergency, You'd have to find another dentist quickly as they would not provide service. This is very bad as I truly like the dentist and the front office staff.
