Sugar House

This is not about a particular branch, but about the policies if Mountain America…read more They place unnecessary barriers for their clients in working with other financial institutions. They do not recognize the usual services that link accounts from other institutions. They require micro transactions over a 3 day period in order to allow transfers. They are also not of any help with on the 'shared credit union branch' concept. Mountain America "is longer a part of the CO-OP Shared Branch network. They terminated their shared branching service as of December 31, 2020." Both of these management decisions make it LESS CONVENIENT to do business with Mountain America. I have had other good experience with Mountain America, but this lack of collaboration is an inconvenience for customers and I question whether to continue with my checking there.

He was able to get a checking account set up for me in no time and was even able to help me find a good deal in terms of promotion for opening my account. He explained everything very thoroughly and it's great because the credit union is very simple and user-friendly. I was out of there in no time knowing that my money was safe and knowing that my banking experience would now be much easier and much less painful. I even came back the next day and Tim was there and greeted me like you know me for years. That's when you know that an experience like this is 1 million times better than having to work with the unprofessional, rude people at Wells Fargo. If you're ever in need of an account or any information about a credit union I would highly suggest going to the sugarhouse branch and talking to Tim.

in March 2017, I was defrauded of $37,000.00 from Kimberly Goudey and Chris E McCormick (Peak Debt…read moreConsumption). I have attempted for the past two+ years to get my money back and have been lied too and misled and basically blackmailed by Peak Debt (Kimberly Goudey and her partner, Chris E McCormick) and their business at Peak Debt. Once they got my money, Kimberly (who was a friend) stopped contacting me. on july 2017, after realizing these crooks scammed me. I requested a refunded. for a year I got no response. March 2018 I reach out and demand MY MONEY. Kimberly Goudey's partner, Chris E McCormick then sent me a check for $26k and a blackmailing contract to hush me up. I refused to cash it.. 1. because it lacked $10k of MY MONEY 2. they are criminals and belong in prison. I attempt again to get my money and they disappear. March 2019- I again reach out and finally get in touch with Kimberly Goudey who tells me the same crap before. So, I reach out and get a NEW contract that states again, I can't tell a soul. I want MY MONEY. I sign it. It stated a check will be in my hand 10-30 days. Here it is at Day 31. MY MONEY of $37k has not been returned. Kimberly Goudey and Chris E McCormick BOTH profited off of the fraud. I was a victim and they need to be in chains. I downgraded my rating for a few reasons…read more....... If you miss a payment, you just need to call them and tell them to take off the draft for that month. 1) With that said, I had no $$ in my account and I had to call twice ore to make sure it had been stopped. For the amount of money I'm paying them to handle my debts, I'd expect better service than that. 2) I was told that I needed to contact the creditors themselves and let them know. I did, however the creditors all threatened to dishonor the contract if I didn't send something, even if it's $10. I called back AAA and the confirmed that. It would have saved me a lot of time if they had explained this to me before fighting w/each creditor on the phone. 3) Upon signing up with AAA, they ask you to obtain some sort of documentation to show payment contribution and progress. I again called each creditor and they said they cannot because of AAA having Power of Attorney. I called AAA once again, and they confirmed that. After wasting an entire day of being on hold and speaking to my debtors (I only have 3) AAA could have saved that if they had informed me of these things ahead of time. You can get your payment history online at the website, and they do hold Power of Attorney so only they can provide payment history. In the end, the creditors will call AAA (or whoever you go through) and complain that yes they will drop you if you don't pay the amount that was agreed upon. In reality they will take the payment you send. It's when you DON'T send anything they will drop you.

Highly recommend their IDA program. They helped us pay for our college tuition and start up a home…read morebusiness. Thank you IDA!
