Had a phone call with them. The agent was pleasant for the most part. Until they became pushy for me to "pay" for my debt. Oh kind enough to offer 10% reduction because my balance is "oh so high". I apparently have an outstanding balance of almost $400 from "Tolls" from Elizabeth Rivers Tunnel (ERT) from Virginia. My debt went to them May 2025. As of yesterday I'm just NOW finding out I have an outstanding balance from tolls. When I contacted the agent she was quick to let me know how admin fees and late fees play a part. She couldn't answer my questions in regard to: what, when, where. The charges took place. Nor couldn't tell me the "singular" event(s) that led me to this $400 bill. Then she suggested I could have incurred this sometime in 2024. Which is ODD because I was on DEPLOYMENT for 9 months of 2024. Then the "address" they were sending my "notices" (+5 of them) was an OLD address from 2 duty stations ago. Then the system updated to send it to my parent's place. Now I have to wait til tomorrow to contact ERT and ask what's the issue. Which will be funny because the agent claims that the debt is no longer their concern. But at the same time ERT is "allowed" to put a HOLD on my vehicle's registration and add another $40 holding fee. Which CSS will then match that fee to pass the buck to me. So a whopping $80 increase will be taken to the head. What I do not understand is if all Ezpass connects (Illinois stated that it was accepted in the state of VA). My license plate is linked... then why am I getting hounded? Why was I able to purchase and LINK my plate to my new Ezpass? Why was I able to receive a refund from my unused balance on my Illinois Ezpass? I renewed my "hold" tags through my out of state DMV... so what is the purpose of the "Vehicle Registration Hold" ($40 fee btw)? What's the point of having all these systems in place when they CLEARLY don't communicate. How are you a debt collecting agency and you can't answer the simple 5Ws (Who what when where why)? For those still reading this rant. Don't move to VA even if it's temporary. You'll get taxed on EVERYTHING and then on top of that deal with stupidity of companies like this. Will update post after speaking with ERT customer service. **UPDATE** 17FEB2026 Ended up speaking with a ERT rep I believe their name was Keisha(?). Lovely woman, wasn't quick to anger answered all my questions and made sure I understood. Was able to get my bill reduced from being $400 and some change down to $291. The "returned to sender" notices they deducted those admin fees. Then when I told her about my deployment timeline and that I had proof of paperwork/payments from the military she took off the corresponding admin fees. So with that debt paid off I shouldn't get anymore notifications from CCS. If I do just know I have enough vacation days to put in and take it to court. read more

I was looking at my 3 credit reports so I can freeze my credit and I saw this company on my reports listed as "Collections" saying that I owe $292 because I didn't pay Liberty Mutual. I didn't even know I was in collections until now. I've received no calls, letters, or emails about this. Now, it's affecting my credit score. After looking at the amount, it seems to total 2 months of auto insurance from Liberty Mutual. I cancelled my insurance as my car was inoperable. I've never gotten anything from either company saying I owe them. I shouldn't even have to owe them anything for insurance coverage I did not have. I disputed it on my credit reports, which was deemed that their info was correct and they will not remove it. I know it's only, $292 but still.....it's on my credit reports. read more

This is a SCAM! They said I had close to $190 worth of EZ Pass violations in collections, even though I never received ANY mail or word from EZ Pass. I even got as far as getting my card out, then they said they don't accept Amex flag #1, they transferred me to a "secure line" to enter my CC number, then while I was on that line I was googling this company when suddenly someone hopped on and asked me "why I didn't put my card number in yet". Hung up right away, called EZ Pass, and turns out I only have $9.80 WORTH OF VIOLATIONS that were sent to an incorrect address. Settled it with them directly. I called today due to a bill that was sent to us from some bloodwork my grandma had done back in June. They told me so give them my grandma's consent stating that I was able to go through with the call. Of course, I told them that my grandma was Chinese and that there was no way of giving consent unless it is in Chinese. They told me that they were "unable to receive any kind of consent that is not in English" and when I repeatedly told them my grandma could not speak English they told me to make her write down the consent and fax it in. I asked them how my grandma was supposed to write in English when she couldn't even speak or understand English. I eventually asked for a Chinese translator to sort out this consent issue and then said that they only spoke English and there was no one there that spoke any language other than English. After talking about this, she ended up saying "then you have to figure it out". That was when we started arguing. I kept asking to speak with someone else and she finally said "I'll figure something out" and ended the whole call. I do not think I have received service that was worse than this. read more

These guys are so scammy. We were in the process of purchasing a property and the financing fell through, we notified all appropriate parties, including the property insurer of choice. We have dated and timestamped communication indicating the acknowledgement of the cancelation of the property insurance, CCS will not stop trying to collect on us. I have provided dated documentation (emails, financing DENIAL letter) multiple times and each time it's not sufficient (even though I provided everything they asked for). Liberty Mutual and Credit Collection Services left my husband on my renter and auto insurance two years after he died. When I found out, I canceled the insurance and went with a better, cheaper company. Since July 2021, Liberty Mutual has claimed that I owe the company money, but never told me how much. They texted, harassed in phone calls, and sent mail, never telling me just how much it was. Recently, they had Credit Collection Services sending mail to my adult daughter's address. The debt owed, according to Credit Collection's letter of 7/31/23 is $241.81, without ANY proof that I owe it. Get ready for this- Liberty Mutual is hounding me for $8.00. That's right, eight dollars. LibMu finally said how much, again mailed to my daughter's address, but the actual amount owed at last. They bullied, harassed, texted, and snail mailed me for $8, which I am sure cost more than $8 in time and money. I am sending their "presidential team" member who contacted me on the phone a money for $8.00. Hopefully this harassment will stop. I have informed my state's insurance commission office, the consumer complaint unit for my state, the BBB (who actually do something here), and the Federal Trade Commission. I received a letter today from this company pertaining to a car insurance policy that was canceled in 2018, but have never received any correspondence prior to this and it's now 2021? I also had a renters policy that I had kept until just last year. When the renters was canceled my insurance company never said I had an outstanding balance. I had to run around with these people for months! Trying to negotiate a lower price due to a gap in my health insurance for a a few weeks between jobs. Finally I was able to negotiate by 45% but it took months to get what I asked for!!! I paid the lower price and settled it I hope that is the end of this all, and don't have to deal with them again. Ok so several years I go I switched car insurance companies. I gave Progressive notice and I switched. They tried to bill me for 6 months coverage when I had canceled and started with Geico. I refused to pay and ARGUED. What did they do? Turned me over to this awful company. They call day and night. First thing Sunday mornings ( 8am) , last thing weekday nights ( 10pm!!). They are absolutely the worst and spoof numbers. They do not care that the account is disputed and do not care that I filed with the State. They will not stop. All for $200. They have to have paid their blood sucking staff WAY more than that in the past 6 years they've had this account, I even went so far as dispute with Experian. They WONT BUDGE. If you get a notice from this company negotiate in writing to have any collections removed from your report before you pay it, or deny you owe any debt whatsoever. I called this company today and the representative that answered the phone was rude. He act like he could hear and I am hoarse and when I spoke up. He told me if I was going to continue to yell at him, he was going to discontinue the call. I told him I was not yell, but speak where he could hear. I only asked and answered what I called about and he asked me. I was not yelling or rude to him in any manner. My husband toll bill has been paid, but has not be reported to the appropriate person to clear up his plates at the DMV. He said he had nothing to do with it. Dishonest! I was blackmailed by Credit Collection Services! I talked to 3 different agents and given 3 different stories. I got a collection notice from this company claiming I owed $1302.00 to Labcorp I asked them to verify this debt and after months of me providing them with documentation that the debt was not valid they sent me a notice that they had filed derogatory info on my credit report with all 3 credit reporting companies I got very upset and then I just decided they won and since the debt was not valid I wanted a reduced amount owed at least Two people told me I could do this but in this case, they would not remove the derogatory credit report they would just change it to agreeing to offer in compromise and that only a payment in full would be accepted in exchange for total removal. A third agent told me a reduced amount due agreement would result in payment in full and a total removal of the derogatory credit report This and several other conflicting stories had me going straight to Labcorp, Labcorp promised me in exchange for a payment in full they would see to it the CCS removed all derogatory credit info and I paid full price $1302.00 after explaining several more times the debt was not valid in the first place but I was simply being blackmailed by Credit Collection Services Later when I checked my credit report to make sure the info was removed all 3 credit reporting companies told me CCS had never filed a derogatory credit report on me in the first place They are total liars they will say anything to get money out of you read more
