My husband and I hesitated to hire a tutor for our 11th grader in IB Math because we felt that (1)…read moreit is the school's responsibility to teach, and (2) we wanted our son to feel that he didn't need a tutor. Also, we knew that tutoring can be expensive, and we weren't sure how effective it would be. However, it soon became clear that our son wasn't getting thorough instruction at school -- the explanations weren't clear enough, and the homework problems weren't proving to be good practice for the tests. Our neighbor highly recommended Dan Chinburg at Lionheart Tutoring (he had tutored two of her children in math and SAT practice) so we contacted him, and we're so glad that we did. After the first session with Dan our son showed immediate improvement. Everything became so much clearer for him. Additional sessions have been a great support and confidence-builder for him. Initially our son didn't want a tutor, but he likes Dan's low-key style and looks forward to the sessions.

Lionheart tutoring's Dan Chinburg is AMAZING at anything he teaches. He can tutor young children…read moreand young adults. My daughter has used tutors her entire life due to learning disabilities and I can say that Mr. Chinburg is professional, proficient, reliable, calm, compassionate and really cares about how his students do. He not only is fantastic at tutoring, but he has the common sense as to how to approach teachers, professors, faculty to best benefit your child and improve their grades and scores. My daughter is a student at the University of Pennsylvania and she has been on the Dean's list, will graduate with highest honors and much of this is due to Mr. Chinburg. He is also very flexible and tries to make himself readily available which is why he is careful as to how many students he takes on and will not take your child if he does not feel he will benefit the student. If your child is lucky enough to have Dan he will surely benefit and you as a parent need not worry. Dan also helped my daughter with many applications and if you need his services for applications when applying to college or graduate school he is great. I think Dan is really a find and well worth anything you pay.

I wouldn't recommend booking with this company if there's any chance you need to cancel…read more I scheduled with them and approx 5 hours later called to cancel because my son had already set up a drivers test appointment elsewhere. They were pushy and pretty insistent that I keep my appointment because of "high"PayPal fees. This rubbed me the wrong way because none of this is posted on their website. Was also told I needed a supervisor to discuss any refunds. She didn't call. When I called back the second day she was again very off putting and warned me of a heavy PayPal fees for getting refunded but didn't know how much the fees are. Now mind you, I didn't use PayPal at all I used my credit card but was told they use PayPal as a third party. (Cop out excuse) and also somewhat shady because any legitimate business would have their own business bank account which doesn't need a third party. I was charged a $35 refund fee. When I called PayPal to ask about this fee they said they had no record of this payment whatsoever and if they had, fees would be on the merchant and not the consumer. This feels like a company who no matter what will take a cut of any money they can get. I will be disputing the final $35 with my credit card company not because of the money but on principle for this shady deal. SIDENote: had a great experience with Defensive Driving Academy and was a fraction of the price that these scammers charge. UPDATED: the owner of this business did contact me and gave me a the rest of my refund. It was obvious she cared to make this right and assured me that she would be communicating with her staff regarding customer service. I appreciated that and have respect for her making good of this situation. She clearly understands good customer service and wasn't wasting any time to resolve this matter.

Absolutely terrific experience. Since I had a little experience as a driver under my belt already,…read moreI opted to go for the hybrid package at Bala for my driver's test. The instructor put me through my paces on parallel parking and town driving, and the test itself was very efficient, although stringent. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
