After listen carefully to what we wanted done, David gave us a bid for the complete project. We talk to David about ways we could cut cost by doing some of the work our self. He worked with us until we got the cost within our budget. David and Nate showed up on Monday a.m. and started the demolition and removal of the cabinets in the kitchen. From all the other bids we did received, David and his brother where the only one who said they thought that they could salvage some of, to all the cabinets in the old kitchen. After three hours, they finished the demolition to the kitchen down to the bare walls and cleaned up the debris. They were able to save all the cabinets for use in the garage. The next day David and his brother returned to install the Ikea cabinets we had purchased. They noticed one of the cabinet needed to be modified in order to work in the kitchen we had planned. After explaining what needed to be done, getting an o.k. check with us first, they did such a great job you could not tell that the cabinet was modified. The cost for the extra work was very reasonable and hardly added to the original bid. After the cabinets were installed, we had a granite company measure for the counter tops. The granite person said in all his years of installing countertops this was the first time he had seen cabinets that were complete level in all directions. After a few days in our new kitchen, we decided we wanted to change three of the wall cabinets They came back and made the changes at a very reasonable cost. They did such a great job of doing this that no one has ever realized that the cabinet been changed. In addition to the cabinetry, they did a nice job with the backsplash as well. After all work was finished, the kitchen looks as if it cost three times what it really did.

We hired Herbert H Construction for four projects…read more 1. Our garage is a HUGE waste of space. The ceiling is at least 20ft high, so we are having them add a floor to it. The job is almost complete and we are VERY happy with it so far. 2. Install a buffet cabinet in our dining room and install countertop. 3. Remodel our kitchen. The kitchen remodel will entail replacing granite countertops, lowering part of a countertop, replacing backsplashes, fixing drywall, moving electric and plumbing, installing an electric cooktop, and painting existing cabinets. 4. Fix drywall in half bath and repaint. The garage project is almost complete and the buffet cabinet was installed. All that remains is the kitchen remodel, the buffet countertop and trim, and the bathroom repainting. This company is the best contractor company I've experienced in my 62 years of life. They are communicative throughout the process. The company's namesake, Herbert Hernandez, was our first contact. He worked with us throughout the design/idea process, made sound suggestions and recommendations, provided us with a sensible, affordable estimate, and presented an excellent plan and schedule. The project manager, Mario, is on site regularly to check on progress, to answer questions, and make recommendations/suggestions. The job supervisor, David (Herbert's brother), is fantastic, as are Raymond and the other guys, whose names I can't remember right now. Their work ethic is superb, and they are 100% customer oriented. They're on time, they work hard, do excellent work, clean up their messes, talk to us throughout the work, and far exceed my expectations. I'll update my review and post pictures when the jobs are complete.

The crew that came out was professional, respectful, and worked extremely hard--they got the job done in just 24 hours, even though the estimate was for five days. That said, the communication side of things felt overwhelming to me. Before I even signed a contract, I was getting constant phone calls and texts pushing for a deposit. I understand they wanted to secure the job, but it felt a bit intense, especially for someone going through this for the first time. After the job was done, I didn't get a follow-up check to confirm if the house was properly leveled. My son saw them move the house, but we were never told how much it was lifted or if everything is now where it should be. I was just advised not to repair any cracks or paint for 6-8 weeks--but I don't know if someone is supposed to come back at that point to check the leveling again? I paid half down and the rest was requested immediately after the job finished--again, through a flood of messages and calls. It was just a lot all at once, and in hindsight, I wish I had waited until I could give the process my full attention. Overall, the crew was great, the work was done quickly, and the price was fair. I just wish the communication had been more balanced and that there had been more clarity post-job. I'd still recommend Hercules for their honesty and hardworking team--just be ready for a fast-paced and sometimes intense process.
