Deirdre at Visiting Angels was able to schedule the coverage to start right away; that was a huge, huge help. The caregivers have been kind and competent. We have only needed them for about ten days since my mother is working on increasing her independence again, but we will contact them again in the future as needed. They are able to cancel upcoming shifts with 24 hour notice, which makes things more manageable. Their hourly rate is not cheap but it is in line with other similar providers in the area. I later got scolded, and what felt like retaliation they tried to suspend me for a month regarding my uniform. I was new and only had 2 uniform tops working 50 hours a week. There was one day I was out of the uniform top, Which I wore a sweatshirt over. They did not give me a verbal warning and tried to suspend me, but then HR realized they were not following their own policlies and took back the suspension and just gave me a written warning. After that they told me the following week my hours were going to be cut more than half! I am a student and a full time worker and I support myself I do not recommend this workplace, the employees always talk about how new employees don't last long and I see why!
