I have used Stephanie twice now, once for my wedding in Aug 2009 and recently again for Maternity photos. Both times I was 110% satisfied! She is absolutely amazing, has incredible patience and really goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the pictures and her work. She even got my cousin (the ring bearer) to smile for photos and he doesnt smile for his own mother! I think her prices are very reasonable we actually got a discount recently on our maternity/newborn photos because I used her for my wedding (she offers a bellies to babies package that I highly recommend). She explained as long as I keep using her she offers discounts! I remember for my wedding she made sure that I got all of the pictures and different poses I wanted (plus some really cool ideas I didnt even think of!) and recently for our maternity shoot I printed out a bunch of pics off of Pinterest of different maternity poses I liked and she made sure to get them ALL before we were done. She made me feel so comfortable 9+ months pregnant and the pics she took turned out absolutely beautiful!! She also has a makeup artist that she hires out if you request it and she did my makeup and hair in the studio for the maternity shoot which I thought was very reasonably priced and convenient. Honestly, I feel really bad about this review because so many people had their life moments captured in an ugly way... Oceanside high school is forced to use this company for senior photos and I'm highly upset about this process. The photos I assume are already edited by the time they email them to you and these pictures are awfully blurry and dark. I don't get what professional would have missed how dark these photos are. Besides the dark photos there are some things that shouldn't be crooked and the horizon is one. Right when I walked into this tiny office there was a huge photo of a family with a slanted horizon? I went to Stephanie and Creative Photography on a recommendation from a friend who also had boudoir photos done. Maybe it was the busy time of year or just the day that I picked, but I didn't feel as comfortable as Stephanie "promises" on her site and wasn't as happy with the photos as I felt I should have been for the money. I have no experience in taking professional photos, but assumed that Stephanie as a professional photographer was going to give me more direction in how to pose or move my body to achieve the best look possible--especially seeing as how I was half naked and slightly uncomfortable. The photos also arrived barely in time, though I was assured when I booked the appointment that we would have plenty of time for everything to be complete and ready. The boudoir book was a gift for my husband that I gave him the night before our wedding. I did not have the chance to speak to Stephanie about my experience prior to my wedding, as the photos were ready literally the day we left for our wedding out of state, but she did contact me after I reviewed her business on Yelp. My husband loved the photos but understood that I wasn't 100% satisfied for the reasons I stated above. We both really appreciated that Stephanie did contact me to apologize and try to make my experience better, and as a business person I think that's a very respectable and smart thing to do. read more

What a complete disappointment. I was hoping for a few newborn photos of my two week old son to use for an announcement and a couple to frame on our photo wall in our home. Although Stephanie's first impression was nice over the phone it quickly changed once I met her in person. Stephanie was highly recommended by a friend of mine. She offered to come to my home to take the photos or I could bring both boys in to her studio. I've always had wonderful experiences with photographers and love trying new people, I was looking forward to this. I assumed she would have amazing props and perfect lighting that would ensure the prettiest photos. So we chose to come to her. What a special thing.... newborn photos, right? so fun, well..... What a joke! Besides snubbing the outfits and props I brought , The entire photo shoot we sat on this tiny space on the floor in front of a dingy white sheet hanging from the ceiling. she relied on the natural light barely peeking in through the two front dirty glass doors of her tiny studio. No special lights or pretty soft blankets or fabric , nothing to place my baby on to prop him up . nor did she suggest anything special to get shots of his face. Besides feeling really rushed, the poses were really dated and kind of strange ( both boys shirtless in bed sheets and a prop with big feather wings almost the same size as my son) it seemed odd but I had no choice but to go with it. She's the professional right? I did finaly ask her if she had any other backdrops other than the white because both my boys were wearing white or light colors which completely blended right in , she suggested black....which would have been worse and super dated, Not to mention loud music blaring in the background along with her phone ringing non stop ( didn't make for a calm environment to capture beautiful pictures ). It felt hectic and rushed. Unfortunately, my newborn pooped all over while trying for naked shots. it was soon a huge mess, too much for my baby wipes to handle... she handed me a roll of paper towels and said her sink was too small for me to wash him off. ( I would have completely cleaned up after myself) He was covered, I was covered too, she handed me a plastic bag with his dirty diaper and dirty towels told me her camera battery had died. Didn't offer to throw it in her trash....Wow. I had to dress my dirty baby and head home with him this way...I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there and home where I could clean him up properly. I had a pretty strong feeling these weren't going to turn out but stayed hopeful she could pull it off. She told me she would send the disc in 5 days. It was but about 13 days and she was completely bothered I was wondering why I hadn't received the disc yet, She never apologized after three different phone calls to try and get them. She was rude and was completely put out by my concern. When I finally got them I cried. She didn't crop, rotate or clean anything up, she didnt adjust the color . Even included some that should have clearly been deleted. Each photo looked rosy pink and both boys looked like red heads. The black and whites were washed out and each photo was a joke, I can't imagine her thinking they were nice, She does not have an eye for detail and could have cared less about us. They are horrible. I've shown a few family members and friends they couldn't believe it either. Makes me sick! What a lost opportunity, Do your self a favor, choose anyone but Stephanie. She lacked professionalism and had zero patience or talent to take pretty photos.... she never even followed up to see if I was happy and was completely unapologetic about not getting me the disc in a timely manor. I actually opened up a yelp account so I could share my experience with others to avoid this happening to someone else. Stay away!! read more

This company is a joke. I only gave 1 star because it made me. My friends wedding pictures are so awful, and they wouldnt even help her edit the ones that ended up "OK". all the shots were taken at the same location, when the event was at a beautiful garden with plenty of scenes to capture. Nobody help "pose" or create special shots. Note to this sad and heartless company: I would never recommend your services. You are Unprofessional and how bad your work is. You lied about your services and work and don't even care about the quality or happiness of your bride and groom. You didn't even try to help them. Instead you have taken advantage of the young couple and have left them with pictures they will never be happy with and can't retake. Wedding photos can only be capture one time, there is no redo. Just because they choose a cheaper/ smaller photo package, you used no creativity and dismissed any care with capturing the special day. Your name is a joke, your photos are a joke, and your company is a joke. How could you do that to some one? Just shows how low your standard Of moral is. Let me explain my 5 stars. Stephanie, she is awesome. I took my autistic son in for senior pictures. I initially did not say anything and he was less than compliant. She was calm and worked with him for some less than fab (his fault) (mine too) pictures. Once I stepped out of the way and let her work with him alone, fabulous pictures! Her studio is small but she doesn't seem to need more. Ample parking in her lot. Prices...awesome!!! This is my third senior in four years, this senior year stuff is expensive! My first senior had to go to Jerry Bryant, seriously ex$pen$ive!!! The second, the company went to the school and set up in a staff lounge and charged almost as much as Jerry Bryant, not cool. I was disappointed. I have one last senior (2018) and PRAY OHS uses her again. She was very nice about removing a blemish from my sons arm. Oh! And proofs, emailed to me the next day. I am very displeased with the outcome of the photos I received. Stephanie herself did not photograph my property it was Courtney who works for her. Courtney did a great job with taking her time on the community and photographing everything requested which was repeatedly expressed to her during the duration she was on the property. Not only expressed but an additional price was given and agreed on for the extra time she was out. The outcome of the photos were not professional and never something I would use to represent my property. Every photo that needed to have a wide angle lens is unuseable. When the issue was brought up to Courtney she repsonded with no help and she would be happy to charge me for any pictures that need to be redone. I hoped for a more enthusiastic response to make sure that the client was pleased. I feel it is unfair that the money is due prior to viewing photos. That is just leaving the outcome for only one party to be happy while the other is left arguing their point with never any satisfaction from the company. Got some Boudoir photos from Stephanie. They turned out great. She made me feel so comfortable, and I am by nature, a self-conscious person! I just had to do something for my Husband that he never thought I would do! The only thing was that I did feel slightly rushed and when I got the book, one of the pictures was creased. I contacted Stephanie and she offered to give me another book. She also added more pictures to the larger book. I was pleased. The new book still has some minor flaws, but no major crease. Stephanie and her second photographer (I don't remember her name) shot my daughter's wedding last Friday. They were professional, patient and we couldn't have asked for more. I found Stephanie at a bridal show in San Diego, and lucky for me she had an album at the same venue that I had booked! The photos she took were beautiful so I scheduled a time and met/ booked her a year out. My 2 cents of wedding advice is to splurge on a great tailor and on a photographer. She showed up on my wedding day in the midst of all the chaos and was perfectly calm. I didn't even realize until I saw the photos that she had been staging and taking pictures of my dress while I was frantically getting ready. She had great posing ideas, thank goodness since I had completely forgotten to think of any! During the family photos, she was able to reign everybody in and I can't even believe it, we got some beautiful family photos (something I didn't think could be done with my crazy family)! I didn't even notice Stephanie and her assistant the rest of the night, which is awesome because that means that I worried less about posing and just enjoyed my night, and it came through in her photos. My husband and I chose Creative Photography by Stephanie as our vendor for both our engagement and wedding photos. I'm now five months pregnant and we are planning to use her for "belly" and family photos as well! We researched and emailed a ton of photographers and ended up meeting with four different people. Stephanie was the last photographer we met with and as soon as we did, we knew that she was the one! She was friendly, down to earth and her prices were reasonable, especially with the special packages she was offering at the time. Stephanie made us feel so comfortable at the engagement photo session and we had a great time. The engagement session allowed us the opportunity to work with her prior to the wedding and get a sense of how she worked. This helped us to feel more comfortable on our wedding day. On our wedding day I was running nearly 30 minutes behind and Stephanie never made me feel rushed. She kept me cool, calm and collected and all the while took photos of me as well as my bridal party in the most efficient way possible. She has the ability to take great pictures and do it incredibly quickly, which are wonderful traits to have in a photographer on your wedding day! We hardly missed out on any of the festivities while we took family and bridal party photos, which was very important to us. Stephanie's assistant was also there on our wedding day and she was awesome as well! They were a great team. We have a ton of beautiful photos and couldn't be happier. She also sent us our photos really quickly . . . we had them by the time we got home from our honeymoon (about three weeks later).
