Heather was so gracious to accommodate a reschedule of our photo shoot when we managed to get delayed by LA traffic on our way to the shoot location! We're not from the area, and we didn't expect to be stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours longer than we had planned. :( But like I said, she was sooo gracious in offering up her personal time to do our photo shoot the next morning, and the pictures are amazing. Love how she captures the light in the photos, and she was great at putting all of us (me, husband, and our two boys - 7yo and 4.5yo) at ease. Would highly recommend her for families in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area or anyone passing through, but I would not recommend trying to book with her on a travel day. :D Give yourself extra, extra time to get through that LA traffic! read more

I'm not even sure where to begin with writing this review. Heather is an AMAZING photographer. She shot my brother's wedding back in 2013, and did an incredible job at his wedding that when it was my turn, I knew she would be ours too. My husband and I got married in July of 2018, and while Heather hadn't shot at our venue before, she came to our final detail meeting to scope out the location and do prework. She didn't have to do it, but it was another opportunity for us to meet in person too before the big day and go over the photos we wanted. Heather is incredibly professional and kind, yet also has the right around of direction to herd family for family photos! Getting 25 people in one photo is no small feat, but she is up to the task and makes you feel at ease. Throughout the day she was incredibly sweet, checking on us to make sure we were okay, but also giving us direction for when she found the perfect shot. Smiling hurts after a while! So when we were getting a bit tired she was flexible and made it work. She is helpful, dedicated and thoughtful which made her such a joy to work with. Not to mention, the photos turned out AMAZING. Heather is amazing! She shot my sister's wedding in 2013, so when I got engaged she was the only photographer I wanted for my big day! Heather did an engagement shoot for us in Laguna Beach, she made it very fun and natural (my husband hates photos and he ENJOYED himself). Heather is a phenomenal photographer. She is also very easy to work with, and very discreet in a wedding setting. Her prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality, and the inclusion of all of her editing as well as all digital and hard-copies. Heather at Vallentyne Photography is super professional and an all around great photographer. We have never had any professional shots of our family, ever. So I was sort of nervous about what to expect in the outcome. Let's just say, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Warning: you will feel like a model after your shoot with Heather. She's truly amazing at what she does. I recently had a boudoir session with Heather after I was recommended to her by a friend. I was a little weary about taking these types of photos and was so nervous! I thought I would be completely awkward, but right from the get go Heather made me feel more than comfortable. She was so good at directing me in the right angles for the most flattering poses. There were so many great photos to choose from, I was worried that I wouldn't like many since I'm super critical when it comes to photos of myself but that wasn't the case. I would highly recommend Heather for any type of photos, she listens to what you want and truly has a creative eye to make the photo turn from good to absolutely stunning.
