He just graduated VPK last week, and it brought me to tears knowing our time here was over. Ms. Vanessa was his teacher when he was 2 and she followed his class up to VPK. She has grown so much in her teaching career and as a person and I'm so thankful for her patience with the kids. My son had the tendency to act out some days (as all toddlers do) and she handled it and him beautifully. Ms. Vanessa sends photos of your child every day so you can always see what they're doing and learning. Which is nice because you don't have to worry about what your child is doing. Ms. Maria also started as a teacher and has moved up to being one of the best directors there. She was always so excited to see us every single morning. She would hug and love my child as if he was her own. Watching her work so hard to earn her director title was inspiring. I watched her as all the children would run and hug her when she entered a room. She loves this job. Period. Ms. Mavis, one of the other directors is so calm and caring for each of the kids across all the rooms. She reached out and let us know how our son was doing frequently and her demeanor around the kids was always that of a loving mother and friend. She was firm enough with the kids to keep the ship afloat. She has since moved on from Kinderhouse but she visits and helps out frequently and like Ms. Maria, was always so excited to see every child walk through those doors each and every day. It takes a lot to run a daycare and to maintain a clean, happy, loving environment for kids. Any parent who says otherwise about this place is quite literally delusional and probably has a personal issue. If you want your child to be loved, taken care of, and most importantly you want a great education for them, you'll send them to Kinderhouse Preschool!

I absolutely love and trust the staff at Smarty Pants Daycare. This is my first experience with a…read moredaycare. I enrolled my child there when he was about 12 weeks old. From the start they have been super friendly. They love the kids as if they are their own. It's so cute to watch them greet each other every day. What I love most are the updates via the apps. When he was little they were super detailed on feedings and changes. Everyday you receive at least one photo along with an agenda. One con, and shame on me for not inquiring, is that they assume you know what's going on. I really don't know many of the teachers names. I know a few that are at the front desk regularly. They provided a menu sample, but not clue if that changes on a weekly basis or what he's eating. I have no clue when he changes rooms, except the code in the app changes. I'm not complaining, but just note that you might have to be proactive with getting some info if you are concerned. They have been super helpful on milestone transitions. They'll let you know when it's time to change from a bottle, when they can have a blanket, eat at the daycare, etc. All in all I'd highly recommend this daycare. They are very transparent, it's easy to get updates, place is new and super clean, and it's such a warm and inviting place for the kids.

I…read moreused to teach two year olds in preschool and I know how hard it is for an establishment to keep the numbers at the state standards. We have had THE BEST experience with the Goddard School. I enrolled my son in the infant classroom when he was around 9 months old. The growth and learning my child saw within the first month was unbelievable! He was doing baby sign language to tell us he wanted "more" milk, or food before he could even crawl. It was amazing. The dedication each of the teachers has for each child is unlike any other I have ever seen. We stayed with them until he was 1 when we ran into some financial issues. This school is pretty pricey, but it's worth every cent. They worked with me to try and keep us there, and I wish we could have stayed. Unfortunately, I had to take him out for almost a year. It was very sad. Then life went back up again and we were able to take him back to school part time. They remembered his name, my name, my husbands name, and even the cars we drove. Diane and Josh are so super nice, and just overall good people. Ms. Jasmine is too (My son LOVES her). Going back was a relief. I never worried about him being okay, and they always kept the lines of communication open to us. Ms. Liza and Ms. Quinn were amazing and got my son back up to speed in no time. My son is two now and potty training in Ms. Debbie and Ms. Jessica's classroom. They have been nothing but supportive and have always been there to answer any questions I may have in terms of what's normal behavior, how he is advancing, and just to giggle about the silly things he does. He even speaks spanish now too! Every day I receive a report that breaks down the different things they have done that day and what part of development it's for. They also break down how much lunch he ate, how long he napped, and his potty habits. There is even a little section where they write a sweet little moment my child had during the day: "Today (child) had so much fun kicking the soccer ball to his friends! He kept on yelling go team go!" Honestly, it's the best school in the area. I wouldn't dream of taking my child anywhere else. He's excited to go to school. He's excited to learn. He doesn't cry when we get there, he was immediately comfortable when taking him back after the break. I am so thankful for The Goddard School and what they have done for me and my family. All of the teachers there are amazing and so good with each age group. We are lucky to have a school like this!

The kids do organic gardening, have a weekly organic farmer's market, and have no idea how much they are learning as they play, play, play. The preschool is strong in sensory integration, which means that Karen's curriculum uses a lot of body-centered activities to stimulate the brain. (i.e. upper body movement, tactile activities, and vestibular like spinning and jumping) This is good for all kids, but especially good for active or attention deficit types. One of my concerns when I sent my then-three-year-old was continuing a strong sense of family and place for her. I didn't want a school that required her to fit into a peg or become a number in a sea of faces. Karen's school became a second home for all of us-- when I had parenting problems or discipline questions, Karen spent time talking me through loving, but firm, tactics. And the kids all 'studied' empathy-- at a school event when a kid got hurt, all the kids came running to help. One got an ice pack, one got mommy, and another rubbed the injured child's back. Amazing to watch. As my daughter got older, I worried about her academic readiness. But even though the academic side is embedded within the play structure of the school day, and not immediately obvious, they are learning. My kindergartener is now reading at a second grade level and LOVES school-- including math and science and she didn't get that from me. I credit Karen. In fact, my only complaint is that my second daughter can't go until she's potty-trained.
