I made an appointment, today, with Jackie for a haircut and I really love it! The store's name is Utopia Salon and is located near CVS. You are greeted by her dog, Pebble, whose extremely friendly! I showed Jackie a picture of how I wanted my hair and she was able to match it. Jackie is super friendly and will keep conversations going, unlike other salons I have been to. Overall, this was a great experience for a great price. Because of the amount of hair I had cut off, it was $40 which is a better price compared to other places. I called her for a silver balayage but she was fully booked for the week but kept my number just in case she had any cancellations and squeezed me in on Friday. She was super friendly once I got there and kept great conversation through out the 7 hour process. She also had some of her usual customers that come in, but always made sure I was ok while she was doing their hair and my bleach was setting. one of my worst salon experiences ever!!! She is really flexiable and nice which made me give her one star but as for my hair it is fried. I told her my hair was dry at the ends and that i just want one color to make it look healthy! For one color, it took about 4 hours. As for the hair cut i asked her to just give me bangs and trim the ends, she ends up cutting my hair that use to be mid back, up to almost my shoulders!!! I asked for straight bangs and it was up to my nose and said that was what i was asking for!! i thought it was a joke because i couldn't see!!! My worst hairstyling experience ever, i so wish i had not tried this place specially for a photoshoot since it was sunday my options was limited or else i don't think so i would have visited this crappy place. I called her 2 weeks before for appt and she said to say cost for styling she needs to see me i went there in person few days later and she said its 35$ as it is first time i will give discount. On the day of appointment she had asked me to take head bath and go with wet hair, which i did. She started styling and started going on and on about how thick my hair is and others would charge me 150$(as though i have never been to salon's) she will never do it for 35$ blah blah and was talking to some other lady in store and didn't even do my hairs the way i wanted as she was busy in her own conversation, total she finished in 35 mins it looked ok(i paid her 40$ as she was constantly saying how its so less and blah blah and i didn't really want to ask her change) and she was like curls will stay for few hours or so but my shoot was 2 hours later and it didn't even stay curled till then, she didn't use any hair spray and stuff and my hair was a mess for my shoot and dry.
