She kept asking other stylists if she left color on longer enough .. one stylist had to help her with the foils in my hair. She also soaked my shirt on the numerous times she washed my hair, it was processed 4 times. Let's just say my hair is now highly damaged, cut is terrible. Not the experience I was looking forward to on my first cut/color after my hair growing back from chemo loss. Please note this review is on Hydi, with Finelines Barber which operates within this salon, other stylist in shop seem to know what they are doing. Saw the cuts they did and looked amazing. Paid her $160.00 went home and cried. Called to ask about a refund for unsatisfactory service and she wouldn't. I will now be spending more money on deep conditioning treatments and more frequent cuts to cut of fried and burned ends. Salon was clean and very appealing .. the color bar was very attractive.

I was visiting over…read moreChristmas and just didn't have time to get my nails done before the holidays as I was flying in from Boston. I called my sister, asked her if she could get us an appointment with Christina here for a Shellac manicure. Shellac is a polish that doesn't damage your natural nail (no filing the tops like gels) and it is UV cured, so it lasts about 10 days to 2 weeks. The Shellac I got here is the best one that I've ever had. She was careful not to get it on my cuticles and did two thin layers of a cheery Christmas-y color. Christina took her time, went over the tip like you're suppose to, and cleaned the top coat twice to get them super shiny. It's been two weeks exactly, and there are two small chips on my pointer fingers, but they are minimal and speak more to my use of my nails to pry stuff open rather than the polish. My main issue is my nails are growing out, so the polish needs redone. My sister sees Christina regularly, and she either has classy looking nails or some fun treatment or glitter for whatever season it is. I wish that I lived closer as this was the best Shellac I've ever had, as well as the least expensive at $20! Next time I'm in Iowa, I'll be stopping back by!

That's fine with me as I already made an appointment elsewhere with someone who is happy to help and wants the business. There was absolutely no reason why I would have lied about that. And less then three weeks in and my roots are so dark it looks like I'm wearing a beanie. My hair never grows that fast and I always use professional products on my hair.

This was my first time in Sky Nails; I don't get manis/pedis all that often, and the salon looked clean and relatively organized. I stopped in about 10 minutes early and they had me sit down at one of their stations and were able to start prepping me (removed my previous gel polish). This joint is very casual, as in maybe the technicians aren't all as professional as some would prefer - see more details below. I didn't mind the vibe one bit as I just want beautiful nails when it's all said and done. The nail technician who worked on my nails was very meticulous and did do beautiful work - I saw the detail painting she was doing on the patron beside me - little ghost and black cat ‍ for Halloween - So cute. But she did have some drama with her kids calling her from home, which was really nothing, but that may turn some patrons off from this place if you're looking for a more quiet, relaxing vibe. With that being said, I will definitely be stopping in again for next manicure.
