In addition to treasures, there is also local art for sale and the building itself is historic - it still houses the safes from a previous life as Alamogordo's first bank! While making our purchase, Chris (the owner/operator) mentioned an occasional local history tour that he gives. We made a point to come back for the next one and it was a great time! Start at the Emporium with mimosas and meet and greet, then walk with the group to several historic locations around downtown (where each proprietor offered their own stories and info about that place.. The tour includes lunch and concludes at the nearby Tularosa Basin History Museum - admission to which is also included in the tour price. All of the people involved in the tour are excited about revitalizing this part of Alamogordo and it shows! We will be back in the future to see how things are coming along!

Currently, this fairly large building is located on highway US-70 near Ruidoso Downs. When we were there on May 5, 2024, they were having a moving sale. Everything was marked 10% aside from a large metal Zia symbol I found on the back patio area. It didn't have a tag and I was offered 30% off, which I gladly took. That made it $24.50. I forgot to ask where they have plans to move & their timeframe, sorry. My mom loved it so much she took one of her larger paintings in to get framed as well. Very reasonably priced, the owner walks you through all the options and pricing beforehand so there's no sticker shock. And to say he's enthusiastic about frames is an understatement, you can tell it's his passion and he treats all the pictures with love.
