I was recommended to come to this place by a friend of mine. It is not a fancy accounting office, rather a room with some chairs and a window. It almost looks like a check cashing joint...lol. At Balcom Consulting Services they offer Accounting, Bookkeeping, Small Business Tax Prep., Tax Planning, and Small Business Consulting, they also do taxes for the little people like me if that does not fit into that category. Not only did I get friendly service, a great return, everything was organized and but into a nice neat binder for safe keeping. Here is how they do things: - You walk in, they give you a form - You fill out all of your information including any deductions (student loan statements, medical bills, charity, etc.) - Hand the nice girl at the counter your form and your W-2's. - Wait for a phone call (they are very very quick) - they tell you the cost of preparing your taxes, you come back in with a check, sign the dotted line. *** they spend time really figuring out how to get you your money, they are ethical in every shape or form, they are thorough that is why you have to wait for a call*** I am happy to say I will be using them again for the upcoming tax season, you should too!!

One year I waited until the dead last minute to file and he was on the phone with me the Sunday before the deadline making sure he had everything. He is quite an amazing guy. Things unfortunately seem to have changed quite a bit; my experience with her as a professional was a negative one. I came to her after April 15th and explained my situation where my return was already late due to a mistake with another tax accountant and that I needed her help to file quickly so as to not incur even more late fees. She then took a total of 7 WEEKS to finally file my return, after having to follow up with her 9 times because she would hardly ever respond to emails. I incurred even MORE fees thanks to her lack of responsiveness totaling upwards of $3000, only some of which were thankfully pardoned by the IRS because of my situation. Due to this unprofessional and very frustrating situation, neither my partner nor I will be working with Maryna moving forward.

All she was willing to tell me was that it's $50 to file, take it or leave it.... but they won't offer an estimation to let people shop around. So why have me sit down, and then look at all my documents??? I get more friendly faces attempting to file my taxes online with turbotax right now... they got cute pictures too and very user friendly platform... not to mention, cost less too. In short.... you're a paid service.... so how about learning some customer service skills ?? a smile? nicer phrasing when speaking to people?
