I really wanted to put this email I sent to Alison regarding her bad review. I have been quite upset about it and feel I needed to post my side.
Alison,
I wanted to clarify to you what happened to the house I cleaned that belongs to Lynn. When I arrived to her home I entered through the gate to garage where I was greeted by Lynn. As we were walking toward the home she stated that she was so glad you quoted the $300.00 because she realized it's really bad and said you may even want to charge me more. We entered through the back of the house which was the kitchen, she said excuse the mess I know it's messy but do your best, the downstairs just has a living room, small room, bathroom and living room. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and what you see here. After observing her home it appeared it was not vancant, and to be honest I wasn't even sure if I should begin working on it. I began working in the kitchen, in the sink sat dirty dishes, countertops had dirty dishes, garbage, food, medicine bottles and a dollar bill, I moved the stuff as best as I could to clean the major areas like the oven, stove, etc. All of the kitchen cabinets had stuff in them which I was unable to clean. The fridge was completely full which I was only able to clean the front, seals a few other areas. I spent ample amount of time the first hour sweeping dog hair off the floor and walls. There was a little room off the kitchen that was somewhat empty which the baseboards and walls were caked with dog hair and food. After completing the kitchen area where I was able to clean I moved to the living room, her son stated to me to move the items into a pile so i could clean that area then move it to another area and clean where it was, I let him know that we were not there to move items just to clean after a move out. I cleaned the baseboards (the ones that I was able to get to) and again swept for a long period of time due to major pet dander. I proceeded to the bedrooms and bathroom, the first bedroom you could not step foot into, you could not even see the floor because there was so many clothes and garbage. I began in the bathroom which was quite small, I was able to clean the stand alone sink, toilet and tub again the floor and baseboards were not ready to be cleaned due to boxes and things all over the place. The last bedroom upstairs I was again not able to clean because of junk, I was able to clean a little bit of the entry of the bedroom. At this point I was quite scared to enter the basement. I went downstairs to find a bigger disaster, the laundry room had a dead rat or mouse, and was not sanitary for me to begin cleaning. I entered the door where there was a big dog standing there I asked the gentleman that was doing repairs on the door if I could let him out, he said no Lynn doesn't want him out bugging all the garage sale people. The only place I was able to clean was the bathroom and stairs. As you can see by the pictures I was honest in my job, I wasn't obligated to pack her belongings or move her stuff in order to do deep clean after a move out. I went outside to talk to Lynn and let her know that I was done and to come do a walk through, I explained to her that this job was quite hard and that we don't move belongings and instead of me charging her a great amount of money to move her items (which we agreed would have taken several days) it would be best to call us back and we would be able to do our deep clean to satisfy a move out clean. She agreed and apologized it was so bad and kept saying she was so stressed out due to relocating, garage sale and her son moving out as well. Lynn didn't have the cash that was requested at the time of inspection which she refused to do. She asked if she could write a check I went ahead and accepted that form of payment. As she is writing the check out she said omg I need a co-signer on this check and my son is gone. She kept insisting that I set up a pay pal acct I told get I was not interested in doing so, she said her son would be back within a few mins. After waiting about 20 mins she said you know this would be so much easier if you would take the time to set up a pay pal acct. I said it's okay I will wait, you said he is just down the street. I was hesitant with method of payment and noticed there was a Wells Fargo directly behind her home where I then proceeded and cashed my check only to make sure funds were guaranteed. As I was waiting Lynn have me a $10.00 bill and said I am so so sorry you had to wait and go through this keep this for wasted time.
