The first time we stopped, I needed change to pay for air. The place was really busy and I was in line for several minutes just to get change for a dollar. People were buying food, chicken, potatoes, etc. and it seemed really popular. There were picnic tables outside and everyone seemed really friendly. I was mostly annoyed to stand there waiting just to get change. Thankfully we made a habit of holding onto quarters the rest of the trip so we could get in quickly for the air the tire needed. I can't remember how much the air was. Seems like we typically paid $1.75 which I think is ridiculous, but whatever, not like we had a lot of options.

I will not buy anything that doesn't have a price listed. Happened to see a half gallon of milk in the cooler and it was 3 days past the sell by date. No price usually means you'll be paying more than you should. Check the sell by dates to be safe. Travel the 15 min either direction to get what you need. Fair is fair.. June 2025

Comparing the price per gallon to gas stations in Key Largo, Islamorada, and Key West, it was even more significantly cheaper as the prices in most of the keys average from $3.89 to $5 per gallon. We made a mental note to return to this Tom Thumb on our return home. It was a refreshing savings on a full tank. So, for the best and cheapest gas in the keys, fill up in Marathon.
