They sell a wide range of fresh, seasoned and marinated meats for all occasions. They also have a Xmas Club which runs from September each year, to help you save for those festive essentials. They sell cuts of raw packaged meat which are great value and have started doing ready to cook full meals too that go straight in the oven, I picked up one this week for tea while in stockport shopping and was really inpressed, cooked in a foil tray which can be thrown away so less washing up, it included the meat (I had Chicken breasts), Potatos and the Veg. The best bit about any gabbotts farm though is the cooked food counter where they sell roast chickens, chicken portions, gammon joints, chinese sausages and hot roast sandwiches. These taste great straight out of the bag whilst shopping and just as good when you get home reheated. The prices arent bad and the quality of the food is good. The staff are fast and helpful and genuinly friendly.

The aisles are jam packed with fresh fruit and veg at super low prices meaning you can live healthily on a budget. Throw in quality fresh fish, meat and snacks and you have yourself a winner. Ok there's a few gaps in specialist stuff which mean you still need to go to another supermarket too but overall 95% is available here. Loads of free onsite parking, just make sure you register your vehicle on the monitors before leaving or you may get a fine.

These yummy all rounder sausages are made and sold only at Orman's. They also run a mail-order protein business which send meat to athletes all over the country! Because of this they have created a great low-fat, high protein sausage that is very good too

She also has a rotisserie for chicken, which is agreat short cut to rustling up a good meal in a hurry! You know Em loves her updates, peoples. I recently attended Stockport's Vintage Village which took place in these impressive Victorian Markets, and boy, are they attractive. Handsome. Like if they were a guy, I'd be giggling like a stupid schoolgirl while they spoke to me. And I'd probably accidentally snort or something. They lent themselves incredibly well to the whole retro vibe, especially those types at the markets who were selling and crafting cute little trinkets. First of all they're covered, which is great for our inclement Manchester weather (ooh, quick warning: do not refer to Stockport as part of Manchester to a Stockportian. Ever. Even 'Greater Manchester'. They'll practically beat you about the face with a handbag and give you the evils for the rest of the day), and they have underfloor heating. Er, bonus! Food was provided by the lovely Zip's Grill, an Australian affair that offers all kinds of tasty treats from their meaty bacon and egg butties and steak wraps to mezzes, soups and salads reflective of the proprietor's Aussie Greek-Cypriot background. Oh, and they have loads of different kinds of bread too. Double bonus. The stalls I saw marked out, closed obviously at the time due to the Vintage Fair, I was very intrigued by. Books! Triple bonus! We popped here while nipping to the regular Foodie Friday in Stockport (last Friday of the month -…read more6-9pm) and the old market does seem to be having a bit of a renaissance period. Ok so I may have had slightly rose tinted specs on due to me enjoying the fine fine food on offer outside but it really is a nice spot. In the week, it's open with a good mix of shops - all sorts of market grocers, butchers and a little cafe - plus some totally random shops and some real gems like High Peak brewing Co (go here for amazing beer from all around the world - amazing x464648!) On this occasion with it being FF, you could sit inside and take a load off, buy from some of the traders and even buy beer from High Peak to drink! A winner for me and great architecture to boot! Some great pubs like the Bakers are in the Market square too if you fancy getting your whistle wet!

Digger Downs took over the cheese stall in the Covered Market from Charlie just over a year ago…read more He is a very cheery chap and always offers you a piece to try before you buy. He specialises in real British cheeses and his biggest seller at the moment is a lovely creamy mature cheddar called Bomber. He also has some of the best value free range eggs around, Bury Black Puddings, Mrs Darlington's relishes & pickles and he now sells some jams and marmalades made in Cheadle called Jammed In ! He also stands at the monthly Foodie Friday night markets and does a roaring trade in cheese plates & cheese and wine. Sometimes there's an artisan bread stall next to him too at these evenings, which are from 6-9pm on the last Friday of each month.
