I have ancestors that grew up in Crawford county, and while this museum is small, it has a lot of information as to what it was like to live in Crawford County in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There are exhibits showing classrooms, ladies clothing, woodworking, and all sorts of odds and ends. I found an ancestor in one of the class pictures lining the walls upstairs. I bought a book on the Centennial celebration of Frederic, and was thrilled to see pictures of my relatives in it. My grandmother was born in 1901 in Maple Forest Twnshp. My Grandfather was born in 1898 near Pere Cheney. His parents lost three children to the diptheria epidemic there before the town was abandoned. All in all it was a great trip to the past walking through this museum. I loved it. read more
