I brought in a heavily damaged oil painting, yellowed from nicotine to Charleston…read more Art Restorations. I love this painting and thought it was beyond saving. Fernando examined it and said he could bring it back to it's original glory. When I picked it up a few weeks later, I was speechless. I had no idea there were so many colors! He also cleaned the frame, which transformed from a dull brown yellow to a bright shining gold. Additionally, I asked Anne to do an appraisal, and she was on the mark with my estimate. (If you are insuring art, you need a current appraisal every few years.) Both Fernando and Anne have professional certifications, and treat your art with love and care. (Fernando's skills also include repair.) If you need to bring life back to your art, or are interested in it's value, do not hesitate to bring to the Valverdes. The fees are a fraction of what you'd pay in a major city (I speak from experience) and the results are impeccable.

I arrived on April 7th at 12:55p.m. (5 minutes early) and rang the doorbell several times. No one answered. I then called multiple times and no one answered the phone. I decided to drive to their old location on Woodrow St. and encountered the same results. No one answered the door nor the phone. At this point I was perturbed. I drove over an hour to meet with a Conservator at Felini and to be completely ignored is not business professional and it is not acceptable. I will never do business with this company. If they were toi busy to honor the meeting time that THEY scheduled, then they should have at least answered the phone and rescheduled or called me prior to do so.

I always thought that it was just a frame shop (yes, I know, I', an idiot,) but when I walked in, I was shocked when I saw so many pieces of beautiful artwork! I was shocked to see so many pieces of high-quality art sitting in a shop in Columbia, SC! Whether you're Christian or not, they had a lot of art pieces featuring Mary and Baby Jesus, which I found to be amazing! They also had a lot of really cool beach landscapes, which I didn't expect to see! The customer service was also amazing, where the employee on shift explained what the shop was all about, offered to answer any questions, and made himself available throughout my entire trip! My best piece of advice: don't be an idiot like me and think that this shop just sells picture frames; please stop in and see all of the amazing pieces of artwork! I promise you won't regret it!

I take the artwork to her, she puts it on a worktable and the magic begins. I consider her an artist in her own right. There is a lot to consider when framing art. Picking the perfect color, design, size, etc. Then what kind of mat, the size, color and how it surrounds the artwork. Also, what kind of glass is of utmost importance in how the finished item will present the art. If the wrong glass is used it may not protect the artwork, cause a reflection, distorting how you perceive the art.
