We stayed here for 4 nights during our excursion to southern Portugal and found the stay relaxing and delightful. Traveling with 3 y/o twin boys, which is a challenge to begin with, finding a hotel that offered space for them to run and to keep them busy is always a priority and this hotel fit the bill!
First off, the staff is very friendly and helpful! Carlos, who worked the front desk, was amazing along with the wait staff (Luis in particular). The hotel had pool toys available as well as kick-pedal tractors that the kids were obsessed with. There were also bicycles all around the property and some with kids seats to take them out on rides (some of the bikes did need some maintenance).
The room we had was spacious, offering 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, along with a kitchen and living room. We did have an ant infestation on the third day, but the staff were quick to take care of it; all part of the farm experience too.
The grounds were expansive with lots of planter beds and groves which we frequently wandered in to pick strawberries and tomatoes. The kids enjoyed grabbing their own eggs from the chicken pen as well. This hotel is just short of a working farm with the amount of produce it grows on-site.
The food here was delicious. The restaurant practices "farm-to-table" as most of the veggies and fruit were from the gardens.
This property was really nice to stay at, but it also has so much more potential! I am giving it 4-stars because there is room for it to get better, but foundationally, it has all the makings to become a great retreat for families! There's just a lot of little things that will make it that a much better. I'd still highly recommend it! read more
