The assistants are happy to advise and offer little tastings. Your choice of goodies are packaged in retro style paper bags to take away and share. Also, I've met a lot of different staff and they are all eager to help with their wealth of knowledge on all things healthy. It's probably a tad more expensive to shop here, so you should stick to getting your more mundane items such as dried fruit from the supermarket, but for something a little bit special it's perfect. Why not try the gelatin free raspberry jelly or the fortified mineral water (you take your own bottles to fill and pay by the litre). Another great idea is that they don't automatically give you carrier bags at the till. There are a few used ones available if you really need one, but why not follow their lead and bring your own canvas bag to fill up.

There are jars of these traditional sweets on both walls with softer sweets like licorice laces below them. The centre of the store has a pick and mix section with wide choice. At the front of the store, there's a counter with more expensive items like hand made fudge and chocolates. There's also Cornish ice cream and for me, the piece de resistance - milkshakes. They will in fact make you a milkshake with any combinations of chocolate bar and ice cream that you want but they have a few suggestions up on the wall. I was very pleased with my milkshake, which contained maltesers and chocolate ice cream. Just need to do a little extra exercise in the next few days!

I was at this food hall in December 2013. It's located on the ground floor of this large department store. The displays are extremely fancy and captivating. I recall seeing mini cakes that looked yummy. Even the fruit in the display case, as in apples, pears, and more, looked amazing and in pristine condition. The pastries looked scrumptious. I could smell the croissants! You can get sandwiches, from egg salad to lobster rolls. Feel like steak and chips? Yep, you can get them here, too. I frankly couldn't tell you what you can't get here. I felt like a dream seeing so much good food, but it wasn't. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you end up browsing like me because the prices were steep or you end up splurging. There was a wine section that had shiny bottles of fancy wine varieties. You could get cheese to complement your wine. Everything in this store looked beautiful and elegant. I would do a few things differently when I return to this food hall: - I'd do afternoon tea. I'd actually splurge to experience tea here because I didn't realize that I could until after my Harrods visit. - I'd find a hotel room with a fridge, so I could bring back pastries, macarons, sandwiches, and more. - I'd dine here to experience the entire food hall experience instead of dining at a restaurant within Harrods. (We bought one with cucumber and one with bright pink dragon fruit.) For two sandwiches and two bottles of water, it came to £28.50. Not particularly inexpensive with the currency conversion (ouch!) but much cheaper than going out for lunch. Also, the sandwiches were delicious! Easy to navigate, the market has two parallel aisles that run from one end to the other. But if you're too tired or you already bought a ton of stuff, you'd be excused if you only do one aisle. Conveniently located, the market runs next to the Hammersmith Underground line, between Goldhawk Road and Shepherd's Bush Market stations. You can't miss it.

I always find markets a little disorientating and this one especially but if you have time to wander, do give this a look because you can pick up great deals on food and other bits for the house - brilliant.
