WOW WOW WOW! Truly the one word to some up for the food at this restaurant. My partner and I were…read moredriving north several months ago and stopped by Hervey Bay along the route. We already knew Hervey Bay was known for two things - whale watching and the scallops. As we didn't have time to go whale watching we decided to try out the scallops. Nearly every restaurant in Australia that offers scallops mentions that they are from Hervey Bay so we had very high expectations. Keep in mind my partner HATES scallops. So for him to even be trying them was a huge deal. I ordered the Hazelnut Butter Baked while he ordered the Tempura. With no exaggeration these were the BEST scallops I have EVER eaten! My partner even loved them that he ordered a second round. I enjoyed mine more than his but they were both incredible. The hazelnut butter was nothing like Ive ever tasted before. So rich and flavorful. we also got seafood chowder and spring rolls but I would honestly skip those next to tp just get more scallops. Highly recommend this place! However, they get extremely crowded so definitely try and make a reservation. We came right when they opened for dinner so they had a spare outdoor table for us, but it was extremely windy and cold. With a reservation you can get a seat inside which would have been more comfortable.

I've been twice, the place looks amazing, the food is delicious, the customer service is exceptional and of course... they really know their wine. Highly recommend if you're looking for a 'classy' night out in Hervey Bay

My Kitchen Rules establishes that Dan and Steph should know how to cook, and as it turns out,…read moresometimes reality TV is accurate. Very accurate, in this case. Long story short, the food here is superb. The menu is creative and unique, and the execution flawless. There are lots of places you can go to for a reuben, but none of them will serve you the open-faced, slathered in sauce, dripping with perfectly melted cheese, topped off with a fried egg for good measure contrivance that looks nothing like a reuben but tastes amazing that you'll get here. It was seriously delicious. The corned beef croquettes were very enjoyable as well, and the wasabi aioli that accompanied them was perfectly balanced. They should bottle that stuff and sell it. If watching celebrities is your thing, you'll find both Dan and Steph here in person, running the pass and/or working the floor. Prices are very reasonable, with pretty much everything falling within the $10-$20 per person range. And the service was fast and attentive (I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes or so for anything to arrive). It probably has to be given the popularity of this place. We arrived a little after 2:00 pm on a Sunday, and it was nearly full. Food practically flies out of the kitchen, however. The restaurant is very well run. It's difficult to think of anything negative to say about EAT. I was somewhat disappointed by the sausage, but it wasn't that it was a bad sausage (it was quite tasty, in fact), it just didn't seem to be quite up to the extremely high standard set by the other dishes. The flavor was akin to a medium-hot italian sausage; pleasant, but it just seemed like it was lacking a bit of something to give it that extra kick. Like perhaps a hint of fruit (apricot, maybe), or some Thai-inspired spices. That said, it's a good sausage. It just doesn't hold a candle to the reuben, in my opinion. EAT is definitely worth a visit. Or even a detour if you happen to be passing somewhat nearby. My wife and I were returning from Gladstone to the Sunshine Coast and decided to shoot over and give this place a go. Glad we did. Bring your appetite. There's lots of stuff to try here, and based upon my experience pretty much all of it is delicious.
