My Kitchen Rules establishes that Dan and Steph should know how to cook, and as it turns out, sometimes reality TV is accurate. Very accurate, in this case. Long story short, the food here is superb. The menu is creative and unique, and the execution flawless. There are lots of places you can go to for a reuben, but none of them will serve you the open-faced, slathered in sauce, dripping with perfectly melted cheese, topped off with a fried egg for good measure contrivance that looks nothing like a reuben but tastes amazing that you'll get here. It was seriously delicious. The corned beef croquettes were very enjoyable as well, and the wasabi aioli that accompanied them was perfectly balanced. They should bottle that stuff and sell it. If watching celebrities is your thing, you'll find both Dan and Steph here in person, running the pass and/or working the floor. Prices are very reasonable, with pretty much everything falling within the $10-$20 per person range. And the service was fast and attentive (I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes or so for anything to arrive). It probably has to be given the popularity of this place. We arrived a little after 2:00 pm on a Sunday, and it was nearly full. Food practically flies out of the kitchen, however. The restaurant is very well run. It's difficult to think of anything negative to say about EAT. I was somewhat disappointed by the sausage, but it wasn't that it was a bad sausage (it was quite tasty, in fact), it just didn't seem to be quite up to the extremely high standard set by the other dishes. The flavor was akin to a medium-hot italian sausage; pleasant, but it just seemed like it was lacking a bit of something to give it that extra kick. Like perhaps a hint of fruit (apricot, maybe), or some Thai-inspired spices. That said, it's a good sausage. It just doesn't hold a candle to the reuben, in my opinion. EAT is definitely worth a visit. Or even a detour if you happen to be passing somewhat nearby. My wife and I were returning from Gladstone to the Sunshine Coast and decided to shoot over and give this place a go. Glad we did. Bring your appetite. There's lots of stuff to try here, and based upon my experience pretty much all of it is delicious. read more

Came here yesterday to try whilst in Hervey Bay. Was pretty busy at lunch time and had to wait to be seated. Waited around ten minutes tops to be shown our table. Gave us time to peruse the menu. The food that went past looked delicious and when ours arrived we were not disappointed. Returned today to have a late breakfast before heading home. As per yesterday the food is excellent. Still can't believe how quickly our meals arrived even though they were extremely busy. The wait staff are also to be praised for their friendliness and knowledge of the menu. Could ramble on but if in Hervey Bay and looking for a fantastic feed you won't be disappointed. read more

Went here for bfast this morning, made a booking 2 weeks ago as can be difficult to get a seat. Tried the Danny's Bennys and was amazing, service was great didn't have to wait long for the meal, but unfortunately front of house service was not good, if you don't expect a smile , or mind having to ask for cutlery and napkins to eat with and given attitude in response then you will enjoy the experience, just hope the celebrity hasn't got in the way of good service as it's just as important as the food guys. read more

The food at Eat is amazing, it's an an amazing location and an even better view throughout the day. The staff is lovely.

Great casual place right across from the water. Relaxed atmosphere, great music playing, absolutely lovely servers, food full of flavour. Great range of juices, coffee etc and also has a mini menu for WLS or even would be good for kids. Just happened to be driving past and stopped as it was lunch time, owners are previous winners on MKR, lovely little framed photo eith their aprons, great little find, glad we started feeling hungry at this spot. Lots of accommodation nearby and plenty of walking paths. read more

Enjoyed a great breakfast here this morning. Started with great coffee. My fiancé drinks soy and she said her 'bowl' of soy latte was one of the better ones she's had recently. For the meal, we had the EAT omlette and Prawn & Watermelon salad. Both were very tasty and were served quickly, despite how busy the place seemed. A great atmosphere right across the road from the beach. When paying, we were tempted by the sweets in the cabinet, including something that looked like fairy bread cheesecake. Another great feed at one of my favourite spots on the Fraser Coast. Every time I eat here I always leave full and happy. The Cuban sandwich was huge and every mouthful was delicious. The Benny jaffle was really tasty and my chai latte perfect. Stephs range of cakes was once again outstanding, I couldn't go without getting a slice of the famous salted brownie and a piece of Choc caramel cheesecake ( they were both Devine). read more

I was not a fan of the pesto scramble, the smashed avo part was ok. The kids liked there pancakes.

It is a really nice place to have breakfast or lunch. The staff is very friendly and even gives you the special meal, that the guy on the next table had. Drinks and meals are really delicious and homemade. If you are around, it's a must have in Hervey Bay. read more

We're from the US and had breakfast here with our son, who is a local. Great breakfast! We had a 3-egg omelet, an avocado pesto scramble, and Danny's Benny - all excellent. Good, friendly service. Open air, very informal, across the street from the bay, with a nice view. read more
