They bride and groom also held welcome drinks in the golf club (which boasts a bar and restaurant). The wedding was at the start of January (so very cold)! Let me first say... the place is amazing! The lodge we stayed in had 3 master bedrooms (each with a ensuite bathroom with a shower and bathtub), a twin bedroom, a beautiful living room with tons of books and sofas and open kitchen. It also had a terrace (but I didn't venture outside due to the cold) overlooking the golf course. In the distance you could see the sea and a town which supposedly resides on the grounds. The rooms were amazing - the beds incredibly comfortable, very spacious and home-y. I only wish I could live there! The staff were also great and shuttled everyone to and from the clubhouse. They were all very friendly and professional. The mansion (if you're lucky enough to stay in it) is just out of this world. If you're not used to old classical British buildings, you'll be blown out of the water. The decor is great, they have a pool table and smoking room and tons of cigars which you can purchase for about 10 GBP (my computer doesn't have a pound sign, sigh). All in all, I would 100% recommend hosting a wedding here and also visiting (perhaps to play some golf if you're inclined to).

Quality of material and standard of work is exellent and service is at the same high level. You get an honest advise and when they haven't got anything for you, they won't try to sell you a product that doesn't fit you! So very different from the High Street shops!! Less and less shops don't do any repairs anymore, they send it away to some place you don't (want to) know. Not here, Ian and Gordon are able to repair (almost) everything. I think they should get the clubmaker/pro shop of the year award!

Yes I suck, yes I cut a shoddy figure on the driving range in my cowboy shirt, charity shop sunnies (a pound man, a pound!), messed up jeans and grubby old trainers, next to the plaid clad, wrap around shade brigade.. but hell if I don't enjoy whackin' 'em balls! Without having much previous experiences of other driving ranges, it's a bit difficult for me to rate it in context. I would however say that it tics all the customer service boxes and offers a 'sh*t, that'll do' type service. Clean, friendly, reasonable priced (it think) at £3.50 for a small bucket, £5.50 for a large, it's a decent enough wee place to whack, slice, hook, crack (back)... rubbish, away a few mins of your day. Ooh, and the view is none to shabby either.

The personnel seems very friendly for what I have seen so far.They make newcomers feel very welcome and explain the rules as soon as you are ready to make your first step towards a successful golfing relationship. There are a few Golf Pros available to get lessons from. You are able to go for % discounts when going for a Limited Golf ball "Membership" card: Pay £15 for a pre-loaded card and get 10% off the individual prices for the amount of golf balls you choose from. I think I pay around £3.20 for about 50 balls. You can choose from 20/50/70 balls. The socializing facilities like their coffee shop and sitting area are very standard. I guess it is mostly used for wives waiting for their husbands to be finished with their "free time" :-) I also saw the younger generation getting their training to become a Tiger Woods one day! The bays are pretty standard. You still need to put the balls on the tee yourself. I know this sounds lame, but having been used to a mechanical operating system where the balls just appear.....then, yes, you can get spoilt. However, on a positive note, the bays are large and give you enough space to maneuver around. There is a hook for your jackets etc. Sadly you are not allowed to take your golf bag onto the Range - ONLY your clubs! All types of golf shoes are allowed. The balls are dispensed from a very modern machine that is explained to you when you get your introduction. There is also a "pay as you go" golf course and a putting green and you can turn up and play without making an appointment. Just arrive and see if you can get a slot for the tee-off! Enjoy!

They had a kiosk where you can become a member, buy a day, 3 day pass, etc. if you need any help there is a call button & someone does come out. I got a 3 day pass for about $16 USD. You use a code to enter and exit. They have an abundant amount of cardio equipment, free & machine (Matrix) weights. I visited around 7:00 on a Friday night and they weren't busy, just right. Equipment was newer and in good shape and the floor/area was clean. They also have showers & lockers (need to bring your own lock) as well beverage vending machines. TVs show health tips mixed in with Ads & commercials. Great place for a visitor to keep the workout routine at a reasonable price!

The gym is in a sort of funky area. You have to enter a building and walk down an odd corridor to take some stairs down to the gym. It feels a bit like you're going to a basement. There really isn't natural lighting so it added to that vibe. The equipment is ok. They had enough machines and cardio equipment for most. The weight area felt a little light and small, but plenty to get a quick workout in. The people were quite nice and friendly, something I don't experience much in the states at gyms. In the states it's a laughably competitive environment where everyone tries to outdo each other. Being at a gym while on vacation, where am I going to get a protein shake, or a caffeinated preworkout? Luckily they had a pretty solid little machine there with anything you'd need pre, intra, or post workout. Def come in if you're from out of town, and if you're a downtown local, not a bad option at all!
