I am writing this review to formally address a serious issue regarding damage caused to my property…read moreby Woodchuck Tree Service and the unauthorized repairs that followed. I had new LeafGuard gutters installed on my house and garage on Saturday, Aug 8, 2026. While removing a tree on my neighbor's property on Friday, Aug 14, 2026, the Woodchuck Tree Service crew lost control of a rope, causing the tree to fall onto my house, severely damaging a 4 to 5-foot section of my newly installed LeafGuard gutter. After quite a bit of discussion back and forth, Megan Townsend of Woodchuck Tree Service finally agreed that the repairs would be handled directly by LeafGuard to ensure my product warranty remained valid. Ms. Townsend agreed to send a check and coordinate with LeafGuard to schedule the work. However, instead of following this agreement, an unauthorized third-party gutter company was brought in by her and owner, John Bailey, on Sept 11, 2026 without my knowledge or consent while I was at work, replacing the damaged gutter with a non-matching, non-LeafGuard gutter. I have attempted to reach Woodchuck by phone regarding this matter, but have not received a response. They are aware the unauthorized repair does not meet the agreed-upon standards, and compromises my original warranty. But they apparently have no plans to resolve this issue and have my LeafGuard gutter system restored properly.

We have 2 big trees in our backyard and we noticed last summer that they needed some maintenance…read more There were plenty of dead branches and some of them were getting way too close to the house. We called Davey Tree Expert and shortly after George, one of their arborists, stopped by. We discussed what needed to be done and he sent an estimate soon after. We noticed that the leaves turned brown prematurely during the summer. George told us both trees needed fertilizing. He pointed out to us, which branches need attention, needed to be trimmed or cut off. He also pointed out a lot of dead wood that needed to be removed. Fertilization was done in October and they recommend you repeat it each year. The trimming was planned for February or March, they give you 10% off if they can do it during the winter months. The first date got cancelled because the job they were at, took more tome than planned. Yesterday, March 3rd, George called and said they had an opening and can they come over now. Sure. A crew of 4 with 3 big trucks showed up shortly. Our driveway was too narrow for the cherry picker, so 2 guys climbed the trees to do all the work. The 2 others handed them their tools, cleaned up all the falling branches and mulched them immediately. It was a fast operation, an hour and a half at most. They cleaned up the driveway before they left. If you need tree maintenance done, Davey is the company to go to.

He told us we needed to have our trees fertilized. Lack of fertilizer was the reason the leaves were turning prematurely brown each year, not because of the change in season. He also described which branches specifically had to be trimmed or cut off entirely. The Davey team came in October to fertilize our trees. They would return sometime in the winter months to do the trimming. Today, March 3, 2021, a team of four men came with their cherry picker. Unfortunately it seemed too close to the houses on either side of the driveway to get the cherry-picker up our driveway and so instead two men climbed the trees and sawed and cut branches; the other two men picked up the branches and sent them through the machinery to turn them into mulch. The entire job took approximately an hour and 1/2. The men used their blower to clean up the tree "crumbs" in the driveway. It was a very efficient operation, very neat and tidy.

I got quotes from THREE different services before finding Pauley's, and I'm glad I found them! One of our larger trees was growing inside our playground, making for a challenging job. One of the other guys quoted a ridiculously high amount, and wanted me to take apart and move parts of our playground -- he also increased the quote when he came back to look a 2nd time, and changed the scope of what he'd do. The 2nd guy also quoted very high and was concerned about the playground. Kevin and his partner worked together well, and took care of my trees carefully, causing *no* damage to our playground -- they were pleasant to work with, offered options to work within our budget (e.g. we chose not to have full clean-up), and came back each day to make sure the job got completed. It got COLD and even snowed a bit -- didn't stop them at all! Truth: the "partner" was Kevin's wife, and it was a joy watching them work together, carefully roping the chunks down to avoid any damage. If you like working with down-to-earth, real people, with experience to get the job done, and at a fair & reasonable price, I recommend giving Pauley's Tree Service a call!
