We had our kitchen remodeled using the contractors and staff at the Sacramento Kitchen Mart…read morefacility. It's hard to know where to begin because the experience with KM is so different from that experienced with typical contractors. Communication. Typically a major frustration with contractors was in fact excellent with KM. Emails and calls were returned in a timely manner and they go to great lengths to explain the process and provide a detailed timeline. Duration of work. We had gotten estimates of 4-6 months to complete our remodel; KM was finished in a little over a month. They stuck to their schedule (despite problems that arose with suppliers) and always communicated any changes that were required. They handled all of the permitting requirements, and in Davis that is not a small task. Notable is that a KM staffer came to the house the day of final inspection and looked at the whole house for potential problems. He replaced ALL of our smoke detectors at no cost just to make sure there were no problems with the inspection. The Davis inspector was very impressed with the work and passed the job without any concerns. Quality of work. We had superb craftsmen work on our project; John and Zachary and Joe were all just excellent. They took pride in their work, showed up on time, and always communicated what they were doing. They took great pains to minimize dust and overall mess. Huge sheets of plastic were placed floor to ceiling to localize the dust and debris. Sheets of protective material were placed on the floor. Everything was done in a professional manner. The supervisor of our project, Edgar, was remarkable in watching over the project and being there whenever needed. Sourcing of materials. KM can provide pretty much everything you need with regards to cabinets, fixtures and some appliances. The quality of all materials from KM was excellent and so much more convenient than searching it out on your own. I have to add, however, that their recommended appliance source, A-1 appliance, was very disappointing. A-1 failed to order our rangetop despite it being paid for well in advance, and their installers were incompetent and rude. Our project foreman, Edgar, intervened and was a lifesaver in getting a rangetop in time to prevent a major delay, and in fixing the poor installation provided by A-1. Cost. We had many estimates for our remodel and KM was far from the highest. Their estimate was very accurate and very reasonable considering the quality of work, convenience, and the speed with which the work was done. In summary, Kitchen Mart stands way way above the pack when it comes to the often tedious and stressful process of remodeling your home. They offer a one stop solution, do superb work at a reasonable price, and complete the work in a very timely fashion. We plan to have them do our bathrooms and in fact would not consider anyone else.

Bruce responded quickly and was also very personable. His knowledge of cutlery was definitely in the "expert" category. His selection of kitchen cutlery was also amazing! My husband and I visited the store today specifically looking for the Aarke electric kettle. While we didn't immediately find it, we spent time walking around the store. There were five employees working and only one other customer. Despite this, not a single employee acknowledged us or offered assistance. One employee stocking utensils even nearly hit us with a cart without saying anything. As we were leaving, I told my husband we'd be purchasing the kettle directly from the manufacturer instead -- and he knew exactly why. Only after I said out loud, "not a single person," did an employee finally ask if we needed help. At that point, we declined and left. Disappointing experience from a store I've otherwise been loyal to for years. Customer service is what sets in-store shopping apart from online, and unfortunately, that was completely missing today and will be the reason I won't be shopping here anymore.

My experiences have always been positive. Located in the beautiful Pavilions Shopping area, Williams-Sonoma is a fun place to wander around and look at all the fun and interesting merchandise. Especially during any holiday season. Which is why I was there recently. Thanksgiving and Christmas table decorations were on full display. Beautiful dishes, candles, and all the accessories that make for a stand out setting with which to serve your family and guests in style. Along with the seasonal inventory, the usual suspects are always there too. Every type of high end coffee and espresso machine you did not know you need. Mixers, kitchen cooking pots, linens... the items are endless. Let us not forget the seasonal food items. Peppermint bark!!! Yum. I ended up buying the cutest snoopy coffee or tea cup as a gift. I also had my eye on a Nepresso electric frother. Santa... are you reading!?! Everything is laid out in an organized manner. Like things all together. Good lighting. No complaints. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Customer service has always been first rate in all my visits. As it was that day. BTW: W/S will be moving from its long time current location to the front entrance of the Pavilions where Talbots used to be. Looking forward to that. Speaking of online ordering on the website... I have never had an issue. Every Christmas I online order their fabulous croissants as gifts. They are killer and people go crazy over them. They are delivered on dry ice. Bake them and serve hot. Funny enough, I felt overwhelmed with options while walking around. Although, I didn't know exactly what I wanted and was just browsing. So do your research and go to the location that's best suited for what you're looking for. Aside from countertops, they also offer cabinets, handles, sinks and faucets. You can definitely get everything here if you wanted to. The workers were all really nice and helpful. They worked with us and the older gentleman even gave us a free soap dispenser. We picked out 3 quartz pieces and paid for them that same day. They held them for us until we were ready for installation and when our installer picked up the pieces, they were still in great condition. Our experience was reassuring and I'm sure we'll be back for my countertops as we continue to remodel our home.

When I tried to call them, they never answered. Phone calls were a struggle, I had to time my phone calls perfectly, because they would never pick up. When I purchased the rock, I verified with 3 different people, I asked if I can return in case it didn't fit in my space, and all 3 people said yes. I went ahead and purchased the slabs I needed, and sure enough, the slabs didn't fit. (And this was after an estimate that was created in store...WITH THEM.) So I asked if I can return all the slabs, I hadn't even loaded any of the slabs on my truck or anything, meaning, they were completely untouched, sitting at their place...when I asked for a refund, that's when they decided to tell me about their return policy, which includes a 25% deduction of your refund, so instead of getting my full money back, I ended up losing 300$ because they didn't care to mention it in the first place. Again, I had already asked them prior to purchasing, so why they charge that, I have no idea...go somewhere else for your granite.
