    Outside covered patio

Visiting from Texas, wanted a nice place to eat close by. Walked in we didn't have a reservation so we had to either eat at bar or outside patio. Although I don't like to eat outside we went ahead and did, so glad we did. The ambiance was very nice, wait staff were super polite! I didn't get pictures we were super hungry lol. But I got the Alfredo spaghetti with chicken breast, my husband got the sea bass fish on grits! Delicious

In a word: spectacular. Our mid-size Central Illinois community isn't exactly brimming with fine food options and my husband and I have spent years looking for a great steak place. Up until tonight our carnivore taste buds and co-appreciation for flavorful entrees has been left wanting. And we are both very, very, happy. We started with crab cakes: they were served at just the right temp, flakey, with just the right amount of sauce. Next up: Spring mix garden salads chilled to perfection and tossed with creamy Ranch and Blue cheese; toppings of fresh mushroom, croutons, onions, and tomatoes. And, then, the entrees: Herb-crusted Pork Chop (double cut) with garlic mashed potatoes; Prime Filet, Canadian Lobster Tail, and Parmesan Risotto. Sigh. We miss their exquisite flavor already. Both meats were seared to perfection, juicy, and good to the last bite. If we'd been home we would have licked our plates. My filet was spot-on medium-rare and came with a dollop of Béarnaise sauce--which I love, so that was a special treat. We all but licked those plates, and while both were sufficiently full, we ordered dessert. How could we not based on all that had come before! Chocolate Ganache Sundae and Fruit Crisp ala mode. Yep. We ate all of that too. Every bit of our Craft experience rates 5+ stars. Ambiance. Decor. Waitstaff. Background music that did not compete with the increasing number of guests sitting down to enjoy their own dining experience. We will be back! And bringing family and friends along with us.

Came in for one cocktail while waiting for my pizza to bake next door. When you enter, you'll be greeted and asked if you have a reservation. I did not. Thankfully, I was dressed up a little but wish I would have been dressed much nicer. Classy place with exquisite décor and impeccable staff. I had a perfectly crafted (naturally) smoked Old Fashioned. Would return in a heartbeat - with more forethought, better clothes, and much more time.

Amazing smoked old fashioneds! Highly recommend reservations. Our food was fantastic!! Steaks cooked perfectly. Amazing risotto and only wish the potatoes were cooked a little more. Phenomenal place and will go back if we are in town!

We ordered the surf and turf with an extra lobster tail, the 22 oz ribeye steak dinner, two sundaes, and the French onion soup. The French onion soup was a bit too salty for our taste, and the ribeye was slightly dry for our liking. Our son practically drank his surf and turf and lobster tail, so it's safe to say he loved his meal! The ice cream and strawberry purée were also delicious. The dining area was clean and nicely maintained. Overall, we'd definitely come back, now knowing which items suit our taste best.

A True Hidden Gem in Galesburg - Craft on Seminary…read more We had an outstanding experience this evening at Craft on Seminary in Galesburg. From start to finish, everything was top-shelf. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Amanda and Adam, whose service was absolutely exceptional -- professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We've been to Craft a few times now. Our first visit under the new management didn't quite live up to our expectations, but this second visit was an entirely different story. The food, service, and overall experience were all exceptional -- you can really feel the team hitting their stride. We started with the Prime Fillet Carpaccio and the CHEZ Willis Calamari, and both were fantastic. Perfectly fresh, balanced, and not over-seasoned -- just clean, well-executed flavors that let the quality of the ingredients shine. The atmosphere strikes that ideal fine dining tone without feeling stuffy -- the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and appreciate true craftsmanship in both the kitchen and behind the bar. We truly hope more people discover Craft on Seminary -- it's the kind of place that deserves to thrive. If you're anywhere near Galesburg, make a point to stop in. You won't be disappointed.

In fifty-five years of flying, I have smelled enough jet fuel, 100 LL, and burnt coffee. Enough to see too many things change, but not on this day and this trip. Indeed, I'd dined at the Packinghouse back in 1986. They've been open since 1978, and I recognized it immediately. Then, as now, the place looks the same and the food was remarkable. My co-star and I sampled the inviting salad bar, and he opted for the broiled steak covered in mushrooms. I had the shrimp scampi, which was spectacular and enough for two normal people. Our only disappointment was that the highly touted bread pudding had been exhausted. Hence, we settled our stomachs on the chocolate lava conflagration that helped put things into perspective. The ambiance was an interesting mix of nostalgia and packing plant apparatus. Being a vegetarian, I wasn't offended by what happened there since 1912. The still-active railroad station is just across the street, which made sense for the building's original purpose. Our server was a local historian who enhanced our visit with her perspectives. Yes, the HOJO where I stayed in 1986 is long gone, but the Packinghouse is still doing what it does best. I must also mention that downtown Galesburg is an inviting anachronism reflecting the old America that I grew up with. There are interesting stores and other attractions. Galesburg is also home to Knox College, and was the venue for one of the Lincoln-Douglas debates back when debates were really debates and not Kabuki Dances.

Prime rib? about a 1/4 thick and well done, no matter how you ordered it. The cinnamon bread? Overcooked and burnt. The salad bar had wilted lettuce and was just sad overall. The side salads were actually better and we should have all just had that for dinner!! The service was amazingly slow. Like 45-60 minutes to get our meals when the restaurant was not that busy. My husband even spoke with the manager to tell them that it was just an awful meal. If you read the reviews over the last year, this is obviously a problem but they haven't fixed anything, so obviously they don't care. I would recommend finding another restaurant and not coming here.
